Our Veterans. Perhaps no group of individuals is more deserving of our recognition and gratitude. Many PAX are themselves proud Veterans. Indeed, a significant amount of the philosophy and culture of F3 finds its roots in the military itself.
As we all know, far too often, the men and women of our military give the ultimate sacrifice. And for those brave souls, mere words are often not enough to adequately express our debt to them.
One such soldier was Jacob Carroll, who lost his life protecting our freedom on November 13, 2010 while serving in Afghanistan. His mother and my M worked together for a number of years.
This year, Jacob’s family has created the First Annual “Run the Jake” 5k race. Proceeds raised will be donated to Patriot Rovers, Inc. This organization assists Veterans suffering from PTSD and other related injuries through the use of animals.
YHC would like to issue a challenge to the PAX to participate and run this 5k race. The race is Saturday, November 11, 2017. The cost is $26, and further details can be found on the race’s website: https://www.runthejake.com
YHC is signing up tonight, and will be proudly bringing the Village Idiocy shovel flag to plant at the start/finish line. YHC cannot think of a better way to honor our Veterans than participating in an event that encompasses all 3 Fs.
