What exactly does Polyrhythmic mean?

Introduction
When the Mayhem Site Q calls, YHC answers. Asked a few months ago to step up to lead a Mayhem beatdown, YHC gleefully agreed. At that time, the Blue Ridge Relay was an event that YHC would unfortunately have to miss due to another conflict on the calendar, so Q’ing just before it wouldn’t be a problem. However, as luck would have it, that other conflict disappeared and a spot opened on a BRR team. Uh oh. What to do? Well, YHC sheepishly tried to get out of his Q responsibility, but Splash laid the smack down and denied the feeble request. OK, new challenge. Design a workout that’s BRR friendly, but still gives the PAX a sufficient reason to fight the fartsack at Oh-Gloom-Thirty. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?
While racking the brain trying to devise a decent beatdown with minimal running and no leg exercises whatsoever, YHC scrapped the original idea of the random exercise generator and decided to give the boys a well organized alternate taste of the BRR. OK, so here’s the crap that came out of my brain at the late hour last night – 36 exercises to match the 36 legs of the BRR. The exercises would be loosely based on the leg number, distance, and description from the website. The easier the leg, the easier the exercise. The harder the leg, yup … pullups! Unfortunately, YHC banned himself from using any form of his favored burpees which took lots of restraint. YHC even forgave the 10 burpee penalty for a member of the PAX arriving after the starting gun.
Everyone lined up at the starting line … On your mark, get set, GO!

Crossing the Finish Line. Done.
Circle of Trust:
- Fingers gracefully and artfully took us out.
Today’s Q’s Random Musings:
- YHC is still not entirely sure of the definition of polyrhythmic, but it has something to do with the synchroneity (or maybe nonsynchroneity) of the rate of the Q’s cadence and his exercise repetitions. Go ask Fingers for further explanation.
- Splash informed the Q this morning that the PAX were coming in droves. We might disagree on the meaning of the word droves.
- As with the actual BRR this weekend, the Q was the anchor and slowed down the rest of the team, causing us to miss the time cutoff and not finishing all the legs. The sag wagon had to pick us up somewhere on Leg 33.
- Based on Garmin data, this was a fairly easy beatdown compared to most bootcamps. I hope the PAX will allow me to redeem myself at a future time.
- The PAX wanted to make the Q aware that this beatdown might have been BRR friendly, but was most certainly not World Arm Wrestling Championship friendly.
- Here’s the ironic thing … Although YHC spent hours and hours and hours and hours creating a BRR friendly workout, YHC was the only member of the PAX in attendance this morning who was participating in the BRR. The rest were just “passengers in the van”, enduring my utterly stupid workout.
- After his Tweetstorm last night, The Vig was conspicuously absent. However, rumor has it that he might have been working on those pretty little soccer arms at Conspiracy instead of attending the premier Wednesday workout. Location, location, location.
Announcements:
- Shmedfest 2018 is coming up.
- Site Qs, please update the Google Calendar.
- BRR this weekend.
Prayers:
- The guys running BRR. Safe travels. No injuries.
- Anyone in the way of Irma.
- Patients on the 6th floor of the Cancer Center at Wake. Not only do they have to battle Leukemia, but they also must put up with Splash.
- Prison Ministry activity this weekend. Kids get to spend time with dads in prison.
- Bunyan’s sister battling breast cancer.
We returned the van keys to Enterprise, Splash.
Zima out.

The Vig
YHC may not have Zima arms but they are definitely not soccer arms. This looks awful and YHC is glad to have posted at Conspiracy.
Joel Cook
