Ultimate Frisburpee (Take 4)

13 Pax gathered for the Ultimate Ultimate Frisburpee session of the year. As is generally the case, a LOT of burpees were performed. The rest of the workout went like this:
Warm-O-Rama
1 lap around the track
SSH x 15ic
Imperial Walkers x 15ic
Abe Vigodas x 10ic
Whirlys with a clap x 11ic
Arm Swirly’s while YHC explained the rules forward and back (the arm swirly’s were forward and back, not the explanation
The Thang:
The 1st of two 20 minute halves went something like this. Having divided into two teams, one with 6 and one with 7, the team with more players predictably took a solid lead while the other team got used to the game. The team with 6 stormed back to tie at 4 to make it a game, only to have Team 7 close out the half with a 2 point run to take half at 6-4. Something like 70 burpees were performed.
Halftime Mary:
LBCs, Penguin Crunches, Mutton Crunches were completed IC, followed by a set of 10 jacknives OYO
The 2nd 20 minute half saw YHC swap teams on the suggestion of Palin to even it out. As the opposing team was light colors YHC was left with going “skins”. Early in the half Zima broke deep for a long pass from TSC and chasing Zima on defense, YHC forgot that there was no shirt to protect me from the grass, and layed out to try to break up the pass only to be rewarded with a nice set of scrapes. After trading points, the short handed squad took a 2 point lead with 4 minutes remaining at 13-11. YHC implored the team to score quickly in order to get the 3 points we’d need to get the win. In then end, we had to settle for the tie as 1 quick score, and good defense got us into position to tie. Too many burpees to count. We probably set a record. Again.
Yet another great game with PAX who hadn’t experienced the joy.
