150th edition of TRQ

Ok, so for pax that get the obscure Back to the Future reference they are probably old enough to remember when Goofy got this crazy idea that the Dashpax needed a non-running core-style workout. You know, cause F3 isn’t a running club, or some pax might be recovering from injury, or they just need a more low-impact form of punishment. Combine that fact with he’s an uptight banker who takes meticulous notes, and you get a site Q who started a spreadsheet tracking all kinds of fun facts about a beatdown!
YHC has a MMR entry on 12/11/14 for Thursday core workout, which might have been the first, and my first recorded Q here was on 3/12/15. Short Sale kept up the spreadsheet and said other than he and Goofy, I Q’d here the most. So, that’s worth something. With the advent of fancy equipment like kettlebells, my attendance at TRQ has dropped off some, but it is still the premier non-running beatdown!
YHC resurrected my original Q plan from way back in the day, created a playlist of old tunes, and began shameless promotion! It all seemed to work! YHC is still out of shape based on effort required to get through this, the tunes rocked, and 19 pax came out of the woodworks to celebrate!
Warm-0-rama

Pax count off into 4 groups and head to your station!
Station 1:
- 30 merkins
- 20 alternating shoulder presses (or 2 handed military)
- 25 Curls
- 20 Bent over row
- Fast walk to station 2 (no running!)
Station 2:
- 25 Iron Crosses with bricks (shoulder raise thingys to the side)
- 25 Plank Jacks
- 25 Big Boy Sit Ups (back before we called them WWII’s)
- 30 Hip Thrusters (nobody was arrested for this)
- Bear Crawl to station 3
Station 3:
- 40 squats
- 25 Russian Twists – double count
- 30 IC low flutters
- 30 squats (must have run out of creativity at this point)
- Backwards walk to station 4
Station 4:
- 50 Mountain Climbers – double count #fun
- 20 Jump Squats – hands touch ground
- 25 ski jumpers
- 30 calf raises

- Land Shark felt 50 mountain climbers might have been excessive
- The tunes seemed to keep the MC down, or at least quieter than the Q could hear
- YHC is still out of shape, cause this beatdown wasn’t easy
- The Q realized he might not put as much effort in planning/executing beatdowns as he did when F3 was “new.” This is something we should fight against, the funny themes, the loading up of bricks/blocks, etc. are some of the reasons F3 works. Plus, even if this is your 150th Q, it’s still new for somebody.

Bird hall is really Birdhole, as I understand it. Good to work out with him for the first time. Also good to meet Pfeffercorn, LightBrigade and TPS. Strong work by all.

Outstanding Q for #TRQ150. What started out as a selfish act – YHC needed to do F3 for my sanity, has what I hope is a gift also to others. I have always hoped that TRQ would be a place where all are welcome, all are challenged and all 3 F’s are strong.
