Four Loves at Conspiracy in Celebration of CS Lewis’ 119 Birthday
QIC: Hedwig
Date: 11/29/17
PAX: Toe Tag, Gusher, Spicoli, Root Canal, Moonlight, Bernie, Chisel, Cheerio, Mutton, Shingles, Pita, Lite Brite, Manscape, Bueller?, Fokker, Swiss Miss, Palin, Thistle, Van Gough, Hedwig, Juice Box, Hazer, Snooki, Brawny (formerly FNG Chris Davis), Commando (formerly FNG Stephen Powell), TSA (formerly FNG Nick Busuto)
26 PAX (including 3 FNGs) celebrated CS Lewis’ 119th birthday with lots of hills, burpees, and mumble chatter all while getting a theology/church history lesson based on CS Lewis’ book “The Four Loves.” The book was originally given as a series of radio talks/fireside chats. Lewis talks about there being four main loves: affection, friendship, romance, and charity (divine love).
When giving the disclaimer to the 3 FNGs, YHC told them not to go to the hospital because no one would be in the emergency room. 7 ER guys at Conspiracy today. #Splash
YHC had all the PAX partner up for encouragement and a few partner exercises. After some very light warm-o-rama, the festivities began with a Slaughter Starter (20 burpees). Then plenty of pain was dished out for each love’s pain station/hill.

Running up Pilot View was definitely a “crowd pleaser.” YHC learned that 26 people is a lot for an Indian Run. Van Gough complained about doing the Indian Run downhill. Admittedly, our single line form was “modified.”
FNG Naming
- Brawny, formerly FNG Chris Davis (used to work as a paramedic in Durham/Raleigh area, now is an ER doctor)
- Commando, formerly FNG Stephen Powell (from Alabama, likes 80’s music, now is an ER doctor)
- TSA, formerly FNG Nick Busuto (sells guns and drones)
Announcements/COT:
- F3 Holiday Party on 12/16
- Palin is taking on site Q duties for Impossible Situation in the New Year
- Swiss Miss’ birthday is today
COT:
- During one of the hill runs, YHC encouraged the PAX to think about a friend/acquaintance who means something to them. Saying “thanks” and “you mean something to me” are incredibly huge gifts that we can give to people. YHC provided thank you notes and stamps for the PAX so they can give back. (YHC is not expecting any thank you notes for today’s beatdown)
- YHC took us out in prayer using a prayer from Teresa de Avila (from the 16th century): “Christ has no body but yours; No hands, no feet on earth but yours; Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world”
Always a privilege and an honor to serve and grow alongside you guys. Thanks for the keys, Glazer!
