7 PAX, Peacemaker, Mr.Hand, Valdez, Van Pelt, Sac, Tuco and YHC participated in the latest edition of Tuesday’s running workout featuring what was a more modest, but still challenging version of a famous Olympian’s workout.

Emil Zatopek, Czech Olympian, was the only man to ever win the gold medal in the 5,000, 10,000 and Marathon in the same Olympics. He accomplished that feat at the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki. In his daily workouts leading up to the Olympics, he ran 40 repeats of 400 meters with a 200 recovery in between each. Realizing the time constraints (and much to the relief of the PAX), YHC came up with a less ambitious plan as follows:

One mile warm-up run around Hanes Park
Mosey to track for ten 400 repeats with 200 recovery between each, keeping a sustained pace throughout the workout

COT

YHC took the PAX giving thanks for the day and the support the PAX give to each other.

Strong work by a great group this morning
Always appreciate the opportunity to lead and the support from the PAX

Relative to the workout, I am glad I chose Flatline this morning. But missed the fellowship of this group. Kotters to Valdez. Been too long.
