May 1st brought about a beautiful, moonlit morning. Perfect for this week’s installment of the best non-running AO….Parliament. As YHC drove in, I saw Harden and Sassy finishing up a 3 plus mile EC run. Well done boys!
The origin of today’s beatdown started with a plan to have the workout them be of the “Filthy Fifteen,” as made infamous by The PMRC. For those Pax who are not at least in their 40’s, take some time to read about this truly unbelievable time in America. Perhaps most amazing are the 15 songs/artists that were on that list. But YHC digresses. Frankly, most of the songs on the list were….meh. Not really up-tempo, and you could not dance to them (there is another dated reference!!) – Solid Gold baby!
Armed with a plan, some tunes and a eager group of Pax, we began:

SSH, Whirly w/clap, Overhead claps, seal claps, Mountain Climbers, and Abe Vigodas (All x 15, all x IC).
THE THANG
Head on over to the side of the school, and grab a cinder block. Back to the front of the school. Beginning at the first post (of the covered walkway) perform the first exercise, walk to second post, perform next exercise, and so on. All exercises were single count:
Curls x 25
SSH x 25
OHP x 25
SSH x 25
Bent over rows x 25
SSH x 25
Squats x 25
SSH x 25
Slow mosey to picnic tables in front of school (w/out blocks), and perform the following (IC), rotating one space to the right after each exercise.
Erikins x 5 (rotate)
R leg step up x 5
Dips x 5
L leg step up x 5
Erkins x 10
R leg step up x 10
Dips x 10
L leg step up x 10
Erkins x 15
R leg step up x 15
Dips x 15
L leg step up x 15
Mosey back to covered walkway for round 2. Again, with blocks, all single count:
Skull crushersx 25
rebound drill x 25
Front arm raise x 25
rebound drill x 25
upright rows x 25
rebound drill x 25
calf raises x 25
rebound drill x 25
Next, time for some ladder work. Beginning with 10 chest presses w/block, then mosey 20 feet down pathway and perform 1 LBC. Back to blocks for 9 presses, then mosey and complete 2 LBCs. Continue this pattern until 1 chest press and 10 LBCS.
Return blocks and return to front of school for Mary: Mutton crunches, flow flutter (w/arms overhead), Freddy Mercs, Protractor at 10 degrees, then chest press, maybe another one or two. Most x 12, all IC.

Boomerang showed no signs of jetlag from his whirlwind trip to the Alps. Welcome back!
YHC pulled into the parking lot with about 3 minutes to launch. Was greeted by Burlap, who wanted to make sure that the Q was here. #accountability
As noted earlier, Sassy and Harden knocked out another solid EC run. TBH, they looked wiped out at the end of the workout. Not sure if it was the exercises, or the 3 plus miles they logged. Great job!
Sgt. Schultz was very happy to hear some GNR. As promised, no Rush!
Wobegon, though not talkative, was getting after it. YHC totally forgot to talk hockey with him this morning. That’s on me.

Congrats to Boomerang, who is new engaged! To those who do not know the origins of his nickname, he is engaged to his ex-wife. Joking aside, congrats!!!

Burlap
Nice job, Spam. I got a little worried at the pattern on the bench workout but we stopped at 15. Up to 20 in cadence (40) would have been problematic on the dips.
Great to workout with Vegmite again after about three years. The faces have changed but the Somg Remains the Same.
I think it was Sgt Schultz not Sassy who took us out. Either way, he wasn’t taking directly to the Pax anyway.
Sour Mash
Sgt. Schultz tried to take Harden and YHC out with a stink bomb during bench work. Thanks for the 80s Pop inclusion Spam, but YHC did not recognize the song. Researching Yaz as I type this.

Spam – although I do not understand some of the references above nor is YHC well versed in 80’s rock your workout was strong! Nice leadership.
Sgt. Shultz dropping the bomb right at YHC’s turn to be closest to his space AND doing Dips was just wrong. I tried to muster up a response, but was afraid a Whirly may occur.
