So for the second YHC #BBBC Q in row, the #Dashstrong Pax failed to accept the >20 PAX Bourbon giveaway.  However, 10 PAX (sort of) showed up for a soupy (soupy does not do the humidity in the air justice) jaunt through Tanglewood and along the Yadkin River.  YHC biked in with an immediate “right-on-time quip” from the waiting PAX. What?! It was 5:29:30.

With one last clarification on where to turn if running the short vs long loop, the PAX launched at 5:31:29.

Apparently, Ramses and Harden arrived at 5:32:14  and immediately began running the route …the wrong direction unbeknownst to them… but gave up .25 miles in.  But hey, they did a great job of planking for the six  shooting the poop until the six arrived back in the parking lot.

It was a pretty diverse route making use of trails, roads, paths, single tracks, and more horse trails taking the PAX through various highlights of Tanglewood and the ever under appreciated Yadkin River.  YHC failed (#QFail #1) to consider what the previous days monsoons might have done to the river trials.  At least it was too dark to tell if it was mud, horse droppings, or a gooey combination of them both when the PAX slipped and slide’d on through. Right?

Drama Queen did a great job of making up his own route around the Bed and Breakfast.  However, Schneider topped him by pretending the loop around the B&B didn’t even exist. And despite the extra detail verbally given before launch both missed the intended turn off for the short loop. YHC chalks the latter up to #QFail #2.

Gamma Ray, Offsides, and Drano (quickly) ran the long loop clocking in 5.1 miles. Schneider and Drama Queen did their individual interpretive dance of the short loop clocking in around 4.1’ish and 4.5’ish miles respectively. YHC had every intention of the long loop, but YHC’s body still recovering  from some virus thought otherwise, and therefore YHC peaced out on the intended short loop clocking 3.9 miles.  YHC failed to ask NightStick and 1040EZ which route they took and therefore they clocked in an unknown mileage. #QFail #3.

All arrived back at parking lot at various times. Ramses and Harden – 5:34:12.  YHC – 6:06:45, Gama Ray, Drano, Offsides – 6:12:00, Offsides and 1040 EZ – 6:15’ish. Drama Queen – 6:20, Schneider – 6:22.

Offsides truly appreciated the route (we really need to work on #WeFoCo’s #MC)

Harden and Ramses – If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around does it make a sound? i.e. you will have to fill YHC on your #MC.

Drama Queen thought the route was great if there had been more light, he knew the trails better, it hadn’t flooded the day before, if YHC hadn’t worn red shorts, there had been less deer in the vicinity,and the route had been slightly different.  Did YHC miss anything DQ?

1040 EZ politely stated he and NightStick may have taken a wrong turn or two, but it was their fault for not knowing the trails as well as YHC ( again can we add  #MC-School to #Q-School)

Schneider – his stare-down upon his return was adequate and amused YHC. #QFail#4 or #QSuccess?

Despite all of the #QFails and Harden and Ramses tardiness, the PAX did a very impressive job. They were strong and determined.  YHC is always inspired by their efforts. Thanks again for the keys!
