Somebody say burpees?

7 PAX (Zima, Offsides (R), Drama Queen (R), Pony Express (R), Rey Eye, Lemming, Van Pelt (Q, R) rolled into Meadowlark for a tame and timid workout known as Mayhem.  Well, 6 rolled in; Zima ran in with shovel flag in tow.  Firmly planted.

YHC is not a fan of the burpee.  Not an exercise enjoyed by long-legged, soccer-armed, old guys.  My M can out-burpee me any day of the week.  I am not proud…just saying.  Well, F3 is about getting better.  No better way to get better than to tackle exercises you don’t enjoy.  No better way to guarantee you will do said exercises than to Q them.  So, with a decently-recited disclaimer given, off we went.

Warm-O-Rama:

  • 10 burpees on your own
  • 15 IW in cadence
  • 10 donkey kick merkins OYO (hold plank)
  • 10 mountain climbers IC (hold)
  • 10 low plank jacks IC (hold)
  • 10 frogs (hold)
  • 10 alpines (or side-to-side mountain climbers) IC (recover and mumblechatter about shoulders hurting)
  • 10 burpees

Mosey to the driveway near the shelter.  10 burpees.  Continue on to the shelter.

Partner A does 10 jump ups (or step ups), 10 dips, and 10 derkins.  Continue to cycle through as Partner B runs to the driveway, does 15 frogs, and returns.  On the handoff, each do 10 burpees.  Flapjack.  Another 10 burpees.

Do some LBCs to gather your wits.

Repeat the sequence again, including the burpees.

Mosey back to driveway for Rack & Stack suicides.  Do 10 burpees before we begin.  Merkins, Jumpsquats, MCs, and Burpees.  Total of 70 merkins, 50 jump squats, 30 MCs, and 10 burpees.

Recover by performing… you guessed it, 10 burpees.

Mosey to wall for 2 rounds of Peoples Donkey Balls.  (chair with 25 arm presses, 15 donkey kicks OYO, BTW for some period of time.)  Mosey to the bus lot for Mary.

Mary:

  • 10 burpees (why of course.  For those keeping score at home, that’s 100 total)
  • Zima led WWI crunches.
  • Red Eye led mutton crunches
  • Pony led the Big O
  • DQ led Freddy Mercury
  • Offsides led low dolly
  • Lemming led banana/superman

Finished

NMM:
Great work by all.  If told 100 burpees were in your future, perhaps you fartsack. However, if you are getting up early, you might as well get better, push yourself, do things you really don’t want to do.  Otherwise, hit the snooze, roll over, sleep 2 more hours, and drop by McDonald’s for a super-sized breakfast meal.  Each PAX pushed.  While we all had to modify from time to time (except Offsides and Zima), we all got a little bit better today.  No 10 counts (unless you count the one when we were in BTW position).

The Respects outnumbered the non-Respects, which is a good thing.  #RecruitOldPeople
