Figure 8s at Thruway for Dash WIB

Being a substitute Q for WIB is fairly easy… YHC likes the format and was lucky enough to be joined by a top notch group of HIMs this morning at Thruway Shopping Center. Here’s how it went:
Warm-a-Rama:
An assortment of the usual exercises that included:
SSH, Whirly w/clap, Sun Gods, Forward and Reverse in Sobriety Style, Overhead Claps, and a single Burpee because Thistle was there and we all know how he loves Burpees.
The Thang:
There are two sections of retail stores at Thruway Shopping Center with an empty parking area in the center between them (between Stein Mart and Talbots). We ran, in a figure 8 pattern, around the two sections of retail shops. Each time the figure 8 run intersected at the parking area in the middle, the PAX stopped and performed the following exercises:
Merkins
WWII Sit-ups
Squat Jumps
We started with 5 repetitions of each exercise and increased by 5 repetitions of each exercise each time the PAX arrived at the center intersection point. We continued to run and increase exercise repetitions until time was called. Most of us finished at the 35 repetitions mark with a few arriving in time for 40.
Mary:
We had time forĀ a single Burpee because Thistle was there and we all know how he loves Burpees.
NMM:
- Root Canal led the way this morning. I think he might have stopped off at the dental office and had some happy-gas before arriving. He was flying and looking like he was feeling no pain.
- It was great to have Van Gogh and Burns there, as expected, they were also members of the 40 repetitions club
- Butter is recovering from his ankle injury but still pushed hard. Push to pain but not to injury. It was fun watching him do SSHs on one foot… Goofy would have been proud.
- Palin was already warmed up when YHC arrived. He completed a Run-In-Run-Out. I think he might have also had a 30 pound Ruck that he hid in the bushes just before I arrived. Didn’t seem to slow him down.
- BAM turned it up this morning. Solid work by the guy that proves the adage “It doesn’t get easier, but you get stronger” BAM is getting sneaky strong.
- Mutton and Roosevelt put in a strong performance. YHC struggled to keep up with them.
COT:
9/11 event that includes running a lot of stairs at WFU. Watch Twitter or contact BAM for details.
The PAX mentioned several other events that we might want to be involved with. Sorry I can’t remember them all but feel free to add details in the comments.
YHC took us out with words of thanks and prayers for carrying out the will of our savior.
An honor to lead such a great group of men, I thank you all.
Ok, Thistle, you can have the keys back.

BAM
Two words rarely associated with YHC, sneaky and strong. Thanks for digging deep to include all the pax in the NMM!
Good times this morning regardless!
Thistle
Great job as Q this AM, RB. Appreciate your leadership. WIB was simple and painful. I expected no less and was not disappointed. Good spirit of camaraderie – we are blessed. Butter was toughing it out on the IR and Root Canal actually did have a late night emergency Wed night, impressive!
