Sincere Cobains.  No, seriously. I’m sorry.  Huge apologies to the men we lost this morning.  [The hastily organized search party did eventually find them a little battered, cold, famished, confused, and slightly dehydrated, but overall safe.]  YHC got a little ambitious with the route planning.  While YHC is very familiar with the greenways, path, arteries, trails, and neighborhood roads around Muddy Creek, it was quite evident that not every PAX is.  It also doesn’t help that the mapping technology of choice has not quite caught up to the blazing speed of the City of Winston-Salem’s bridge builders since the new Muddy Creek bridge is not on popular GPS systems such as Map My Run or Google Maps (note: it is on Ride With GPS though).  Pile on about 47 turns and then roads changing names, designations, and compass direction with the absence of any discernible light and it became a slight mess. Plus, YHC was struggling to keep up with Hoptoberfest, who clearly ate his Wheaties before coming, which meant that there was failure in signaling the turns to the entire group.  My bad.

Anyway, here’s what we did.

NMM:

• Closer and Bluto didn’t trust that I would create a difficult enough route, so they logged some extra miles in before the Run portion.  #Strong
• Rust Bucket and Burlap also ran some Extra Credit, but that was probably just to avoid doing Tabata.
