I do love a theme for a run or workout.  And I’m accused often of given guided tours of Old Salem to the 5:15 group.  But Bluto is getting smarter on local history… so that is plus.  Folks seemed to enjoy the last tour of bridges before the big Business 40 closure.    Everyone is talking about 40 closing.  But they forget all the bridges over 40 and the roads under 40 will be affected and replaced too.  Many of these bridges close this weekend or Monday.  We all did learn that bridges do freeze before roads and quickly become slippery and icy.   If you really want to learn some more about the Business 40 project watch this video: https://youtu.be/0WxkGfZX_78 .   Also check out www.creativecorridors.org for info on the private effort to make this project not your standard DOT government issue roadway and bridges.  You can see some of the work already on Research Parkway and the Twin Arches at US52.

My two favorite comments of the morning:

  1. SAC, “Do you work for the city planning department or something?”
  2. Burlap, “Think that was the best route ever for OGs and Tractors intersecting multiple times.  I felt like Zuck passed me 4 times.”

Mission accomplished.  and I taught Bluto something…

LBH, Bluto is very smart and know everything. This is why he is the Nantan.

Good looking route Glazer, YHC hated to miss.

Great push/pull and F2 with Valdez this morning. He almost went over the edge of one of the bridges after finding ice.

I like – and try to implement— Tractors and OGs routes to coincide. But this is usually at the end. Great job by Glazer. And Zuck literally passed Peace and me 3 times. He was a little ticked.

But I want to file a complaint and get a refund on my running fee — we did not go over Spruce St bridge. I realized this on my way home on B40 for the last time until 2020.

BUT T-claps to Glazer for making sure we ran against NOT WITH traffic on the one way streets.

Thanks to Peace for lagging back with me on the many hills.
