An Old Man Walks into a Workout…
QIC: Van Pelt
Date: 04/01/2019
PAX: Bevo, Zima, Van Pelt
Happy April Fools Day! The weather sure gave us a wake up call this morning as we faced a nice spring temp of 31. Not scared of the chill, 3 PAX rolled into the outhouse (not at one time) for a little boot camp work. Here is how it went down:
Warm Up for April Fool:
A be Vigoda x 10
P lank Jacks x 15
R ussian Twists x 15
I mperial Walkers x 15
L unges x 10 each leg
F airy Jack (SSH with feet only touching in middle) x 10 OYO
O verhead Clap x 15
O as in the Big O x 10
L ow, slow squat
Then, we took a chance, what with Bevo’s restrictions around schools, and went to the very dark track behind Jefferson Middle. 4 Corners of Mountain Climbers, Low Plank Jack, Molotov Merkins, and Burpees. Rounds of 20, 15, 10, 5.
Triple Nickel greeted us next. Run up hill, 5 hand release merkins, run back down, 5 alpines. Repeat 5 times.
Backward / forward up hill one more time.
Mary–flutter, mutton crunch, rolalita, Freddie Mercury. Finished.
Moleskine:
Arriving early to make sure I could remember how to get to the AO, YHC waited, and waited, and waited. What run route can I come up for a sad clown run? Then, Zima rolls in (he had on long sleeves). We chat. Then, Bevo rounds out the PAX.
Bevo is concerned about doing Russian Twists during warm up. YHC explained that I needed an R. Zima, recalling exercises but not the right order, thought we were spelling AARP. #NoRespect.
The track behind Jefferson Middle is DARK. Like, we didn’t know if we were even on the track kind of dark. Nonetheless, we persisted. Molotov merkins are a crowd pleaser. YHC recommends them to keep these young ‘uns in check. Burpees are Zima’s favorite. That said, he has absolutely perfect form, even staring with a hands-in-the-air jump. #Perfection
With only 3 PAX, we were able to stay together (except the last charge up the hill) and enjoy some Fellowship along the way. We all have 2 kids of varying ages (2.5 to 23). Rounding out the 3rd F, YHC took us out.
