YHC was feeling good this morning driving with the music up and the windows down into Purgatory with hopes of providing the pax who came with validation at their decision to rise early.  YHC scouted the AO early, passing Butter who was getting in some #EC, then headed back to the launch point at 0655.  At that point, the Purgatory dependables were already congregating; then came an unexpected flood of OGs at 0658; then came Pert Plus right on time (by Spicoli’s standards).  By the time all were counted, two baker’s dozens were thrown into the oven.  Here’s what we did.

Warmarama:

The Thang:

Short mosey to other side of flag pole.  Pax were instructed that we were going to travel to far end of the parking lot, approximately 250 feet away, in various modes and switch up at each island we passed.

• Crab Walk + 10 merkins
• Bear Walk + 10 merkins
• Duck Walk + 10 merkins
• Human Run + 25 merkins

Mosey to rock pile.  Pax were instructed to grab two rocks of similar size.

• Rock curls with right arm; left arm holds other rock static at a 90 degree bend in elbow x 10 (IC)
• Flip flop with left arm x 10 (IC)
• Monkey Humpers x 20 (IC)
• Lat Raises x 10 (IC)
• Copperhead squats x 10 (IC)
• Shoulder presses x 10 (IC)

Mosey to walls with rocks in tow.

• Wall sits + head, shoulders, knees, toes x 10 (IC)
• Alternating lunges x 10 (IC)
• Wall sits + Jack Reachers with rocks x 10 (IC)
• Dan Taylors x 10 (OYO)
• One-legged wall sits x 10 (IC, alternate legs)
• Side bends with rocks x 10 (IC, each side)
• One legged wall sits + Jack Reachers with rocks (IC, alternate legs)

Return the rocks to the quarry.  Mosey on path around the field to the pull-up bars.  Partner up.

• Partner A does pull ups
• Partner B does leg exercise of choice
• Flip flop when partner A fatigues on pull ups
• Partnership concludes when 60 cumulative pull ups are reached

We formed two lines of roughly equal pax for Indian run around the field and continuing to Lido deck.  Back pax drops and does five merkins then sprints to the front of the line.  At Lido deck circle:

• Pax huddled up and lean on one another for ten calf raises each.

Mosey to deck for Tabatta, AMRAP:  40 seconds on, 10 seconds rest between each exercise.

Mosey back to Lido deck circle.  All you got back to the launch point.

• Today is Cobra’s 45^th birthday!
• Coffeeteria every Saturday at Peacehaven Chick-Fil-A following workouts.
• Ruck on Sunday launching from Bailey Park at 0645. Lawn Boy is on Q.  The Ruck is a great opportunity to focus on the second F while still getting some miles in before the city wakes up.

• Plunger’s father is recovering from heart surgery on Friday.
• Peacemaker’s M is recovering from surgery on Tuesday. Prayers that no additional signs of cancer are found.
• Folks in Virginia Beach following Friday’s shooting.
• Praise that Cobra made it another year.

NMM:

FNG Rolph Garcia-Gallont is a 38-year old attorney that works next door to Sgt. Schultz.  He’s patient and long-suffering towards rule-breakers, is tri-lingual (English, Spanish, and German), and has a Prussian general in his ancestry.  Names thrown out were Disclaimer, since YHC failed to make known the disclaimer at the launch of the workout, Luxembourg, Flanders, and Hapsburg.  Von Trapp carried the day.  Welcome!

YHC was prepared for the DashPax version of Albert & Costello (Splash and Spam) but was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the Vig, Balco, Cobra, and Zuck in quick succession.  It was a #fastholeflashmob.

There was a ton of MC, as expected.  YHC was too busy playing border collier to remember much of it with huge turnout of pax.

H.O.G. continues to get it done and pops up at every workout.  He’s relentless.

Welcome back to Green Acres, whom YHC had not seen since his surgery in January!

YHC had his attorney review the terms of Qing at Purgatory to make sure that the same gray stipulations regarding running at TRQ were not in play on Saturday.  The Twitter war between Sgt. Schultz, Bam, Goofy, and Burlap over protocol for TRQ workouts continued in person today.  YHC had to sentence them all to 10 burpees to pause the chitter-chatter.  YHC believes that an armistice was signed at (where else?) Chick-Fil-A during coffeeteria but is prepared to call in Peacemaker for conflict resolution and reconciliation if Chick-Fil-A turns out like Singapore.

Great to $5 Footlong out multiple times this week as he continues his rehab.

Not only can the Vig run fast, he can crab walk faster than most people run.

Spam commented that my musical selection was much better than the last visit to Purgatory.  Today’s mix included a heavy blend of Bon Jovi, U2, Steve Miller, Zac Brown, Smash Mouth, Tag Team, AC/DC, Aerosmith, DMB, Bob Seger, the Who, and OCMS.
