A Birthday Gift for my M?

11 Pax showed for a rare Burlap Q at Flatline and experienced the following:
Single File line. 45 minutes of constant exercise broken only by transportation from the back of the line to the front, waiting for the preceding pax to get to front of the line before leaving the back of the line (with a couple of modifications). Q switches the exercise and mode of transportation with each time he moves from back to front.
- SSHs, then Run (did this two times to get pax oriented to the peloton)
- ISTs – lunge walk

- OH Claps — inchworm
- merkins — run with hands behind back
- straight arm plank — crab walk
- low dolly — bear crawl
- mtn climbers — carioca right
- Freddie mercury — carioca left
- CDDs — bunny hop
- elbow plank — bear crawl
- squats — crawl bear
- jack reachers — alligator crawl
- Peter Parker — duck walk
- jump squats — Apollo Creed right
- Parker Peter — Apollo Creed left
- low flutter — side squat right
- Nolan Ryans, alternating — side squat left

COT
- Be ready for Shmedfest convergence on Saturday, Aug 24 at 0700 at the fairgrounds with FIA and 2.0s. Shmedfest is that evening, a free fund raiser for Crisis Control.
- Prayers for a priest of Seatback’s who is suffering from Bells Palsy.
- YHC took us out asking that we take the strength we gather from F3 and give it to our family, friends and co-workers.
NMM
- YHC created this workout for Flatline in early Sept 2017 which was the week before the BRR. Wanted to keep running to minimum but still get in hard workout with decent cardio. We had 6 or 7 in Sept 2017 — having 11 dudes this morning made it harder.
- Especially hard when we end up doing merkins for three minutes while pax slowly inchwormed down the length of the line. YHC encouraged folks to cut the corner and go along the hypotenuse of the triangle, but some wanted their full distance anyway.
- For a couple of these (think alligator crawl and side squats), the Q decided that the next pax could transport once the preceding pax was half way down the line, as a means of mercy.
- This structure of workout has no cadence calling and keeps Pax together physically, so the MC was pretty high and sprinkled throughout the workout. However, due to the line formation, YHC heard MC only from the 3-4 guys around me.
- Beverly and $5 FL were saying (or singing) the names of the pax as they transported past us, which helped me and others to learn/remember the names, as a few guys have been doing this only a few months.
- OH Claps after 2-3 minutes of plankjacks are surprisingly hard. Others commented that the air had gotten heavy as even Jack Reachers were difficult by that portion of the workout.
- Pax could not tell what exercise YHC was doing at Carolina Dry Docks. Old and inflexible.
- There were interesting versions and speeds of Alligator Crawl. Turnover looked like Spider-Man with his mesmerizing calf length socks.
- The Vig and Beverly modified their low flutters while lying on their backs looking up at the Wells Fargo Center building through their legs. They now have a largely inflated view of their own manhood.
- The exercises were not that hard but doing so many reps with no rest made them feel like thousands of small cuts.
- Wobegon was the only Pax that repeated this workout from Sept 2017. YHC remembers it well because during that workout, while doing Nolan Ryans, Wobegon revealed that he was in attendance at the Rangers (?) game when Robin Ventura made the bad decision to charge Mr. Ryan’s mound.
- Started at parking space 70 and finished there, maybe 1/4 mile covered.
- Strong work by each and every pax. YHC appreciates your following my lead in this exercise in pain and endurance.
- Today is the birthday of my M, so my gift to her is inflicting all this pain on the pax at Flatline rather than taking it out on her today.
