IronPax Week 4 Early Bird Special
QIC: Burns
Date: 9/24/19
In the interest of appeasing our Spamtan and avoiding his eternal wrath, this timely and accurate backblast has been curated and shared with the members of F3WS and beyond
With the knowledge that I have Q duties on Wednesday and Thursday this week, YHC wanted to knock out the Iron Pax Week 4 Challenge earlier rather than wait / dread it until Saturday. I put feelers out in the twittersphere to gauge interest in a nomad posting at Reagan HS, and three came a’calling to form a mighty group this AM.
PAX: Wobegon, Greenspan, Litterbox, Burns
Warm up on your own, prepare to launch at 0530
The thang:
Sugar’s Pick Your Poison
3 rounds for time
100 cumulative merkins and/or air squats
100 yard out & back coupon run
100 cumulative KB swings/Bonnie Blairs (each leg is 1)
100 yard out & back coupon run
100 cumulative thrusters/travelling lunge steps (each leg is 1)
100 yard out & back coupon run
No mary due to exhaustion. We walked the 100 out and back to cool down/collect the cones & headlamp.
Litterbox, unsurprisingly, led the way. YHC tried to keep pace and fell off during the last time through. Greenspan was not far behind, and Wobegon was on his thruster/lunge step round as Greenspan crossed the line so all 3 of us repped those out with him. Litterbox carried his coupon with Wobegon, Greenspan ran with them, and I tried to capture the moment on my phone camera but failed due to the vicious combo of fog on the field and steam coming off my body. It was truly a strong group of HIMs this morning, and I was encouraged by the push and the camaraderie by these men. There was strong fellowship throughout, especially at the end as we celebrated our completion of this year’s IronPax Challenge.
Announcements
YHC has the Q tomorrow at Conspiracy, where we will do none of the above exercises
YHC has the Q Thursday at The Distillery, where we will do light brick work and some running
YHC has the Q for our ruck on Sunday, we will launch from Reynolda Village and Coffeeteria at DoughJoes afterwards.
YHC does not have good calendar management skills, & needs to avoid accepting Qs at multiple things in a week…this has happened more that I’d like to admit to.
Litterbox turns 26 today, which was celebrated with half-hearted song (Greenspan) and full-hearted congratulations and well-wishes.
All of the recurring prayer requests were lifted up, as well as prayers for my mom & her sister in the loss of my Uncle, who had been battling lung cancer for 6+ years and left the earthly realm peacefully on Friday to join the SkyQ. YHC took us out with thankfulness and a desire to consume the things of Christ, and kept the keys on my keychain for the next time I get to Reagan that early.
