Should’ve Been a Redraw

YHC significantly overestimated his ability to tackle the hills of Winston-Salem this morning. The result? Brutally tired legs, a late finish and a lack of recording device, hence, the lack of named Pax.
This morning’s run was filled with a handful of humbling lessons, the best of which came from Winklevoss – if the route is over 400ft of climb, redraw it. This rule would have saved us all some pain along the 6.5 mile, 415ft climb OGs route. The tractors route wasn’t much better.
Thinking he would find some sympathy from his 2.0, upon describing the treacherous route and how tired he was, she recited a quote from The Hangover – “yeah, but did you die?”. Fair enough. She also reminded YHC that he had no one to blame but himself for the route.
YHC would like to think today’s route helped Juicebox and Red Eye continue preparing for the Pilot Mountain run in October.
Prayer requests –
Keep Zuck’s father, Peacemaker’s wife, and Boo Boo’s brother-in law in your thoughts as they battle through life’s challenges.
Prayers for those impacted from hurricane Dorian.
Prayers for our brothers starting the BRR today.
Thank you to Zuck for stepping up to take us out today.

400 feet? What the? The 100 plus we had at BBBC was sufficient. Well done guys.
Remember – join YHC tomorrow at #IS where we will recreate this workout. Also, Wednesday, 9/11 6am – BBT Field. Climb to Remember. SYITG

I believe if you check the routes from past OGs you will find that the average climb is about 375-400 feet so today’s wasn’t that bad. However, the Tractors route at just under 4 miles had 325 feet. THAT is hilly.
When we used to train for BRR we might do 500 or so. 415 is not bad.
You OGs are getting old. Suck it up.
(Valdez, you earned the #DW moniker today.)
And in case y’all haven’t noticed, Palin has gotten into really good shape.

#DW – I’m going to tell myself that’s a good thing. What might it mean?

Thanks to Burlap for bringing the data and making us all feel like winners. Soon we’ll be taking up Van Pelt’s proposal of beer and cigars roadside while watching people run. Only it will be for OGs rather than BRR.
Appreciate the Q Valdez.
