YHC continues in my quest for 50 Qs in 2019, rounding out my fifth Q in 5 days this morning at Mayhem.  6 stellar PAX arrived in the parking lot of Meadlowlark Elementary for my 39th Q of the year, a workout that seemed to be a hit, as Spamalot has very kindly praised it on the Twitters.

WARMARAMA:   A medley of SSHs, Hillbillies, Seal Claps, Overhead Claps and Whirly’s With the Clap.   As of late, YHC has been focusing more on stretching during Warmarama and did so again this morning, incorporating a series of shoulder, hamstring and groin stretches.

THE THANG:  This morning’s workout consisted of a variation of a Dora.   The PAX paired off into three 2-many buddy teams.   YHC set up 3 pain stations around a portion of the Meadowlark School parking lot approximately 1/8 of a mile in circumference.

STATION 1:   Equipped with 2 x 10lb, 2 x 15lb, 2 x 20lb and 2 x 25lb dumbbells, along with a Weinke that listed the following exercises:

  • Curls
  • Skull Crushers
  • Overhead Press

STATION 2:  Equipped with a 35lb dumbbell, a 30lb dumbbell, and an 18lb kettlebell, along with a Weinke that listed the following exercises:

  • Merkins
  • Crunchy Frogs
  • Upright Rows

STATION 3:  Equipped with a 35lb dumbbell, a 30lb dumbbell, and a 25lb kettlebell, long with a Weinke that listed the following exercises:

  • Sumo Squats
  • Monkey Humpers
  • Calf Raises

Each buddy team started at a different station.   While Partner # 1 performed the first exercise listed at their station, Partner # 2 ran counterclockwise around the 1/8 mile loop.   When Partner # 2 returned, Partner # 1 took off running and Partner # 2 picked up where Partner # 1 left off until 100 combined reps of the exercise had been completed.  When 100 reps were accomplished, that Partner ran counterclockwise to the next station and started performing the first listed exercise, doing so until his partner met him.   Continue onward, with each buddy team performing 100 combined reps of each exercise and moving from station to station and working down the Weinkes.   When 0610 arrived, all teams had completed all exercises and were well into doing them a second time.   According to my FitBit, I got in approximately 2.4 miles running.

MARY:   Done by committee, with Root Canal leading us in a rather lengthy, extensive and painful series of planks, with H.O.G. following suit, and Splash finishing up with the obligatory “Low Fluttas.”

COT:

  • Prayers for those struggling with mental illness and addiction
  • Praises for Palin and his wife, who are expecting a baby boy
  • Praises for Burns and his wife, who are expecting twins
  • Prayers for Ziggy Stardust and his health issues
  • Praises for Little House’s little son, Mason, who received some very good medical news on Friday

YHC took us out in prayer, asking our Lord to give us strength and courage to answer, “Send Me!” when the call goes out.   Isaiah 6:8
