A RunRangerRun Edition of WIB
QIC: Van Gogh
Date: 02/20/2020
PAX: Burns (WB), HOG, Turnover, Fender, Greenspan, Just For Men, Zima (WD), Van Gogh (QIC)
As we should all know by know, #RunRangerRun is in full swing. Because of this, YHC wanted to up the quota of our normal WIB distances (1-3 miles), and ensure our team is maximizing mileage! Coincidentally, YHC’s last Q at WIB set a record of 4.2 miles, and the goal may or may not have been set to beat that. A simple half mile loop with only 2 pain stations was set to help ensure at least 4 would be accomplished. What went down, was certainly one for the history books.

CoT:
- MAJOR QFAIL ALERT: WE DID NOT DO NAME-O-RAMA!!
- None of the PAX realized (including YHC), that after we counted off, YHC forgot to lead Name-o-rama.
- @Zima kindly reminded YHC later on that we didn’t do it.
- YHC will report to the Nantan for punishment.
- Prayers for @Burnsy and his M, with a planned date to induce on March 5th, and have comfort and preparedness for the change to come.
- Prayers for @Palin, who is enjoying fatherhood, and that he and his M continue to adjust well.
- Prayers for wise choices and smart driving later today.
NMM:
- QFail aside, it was a pretty successful morning! Luckily, YHC knows the PAX ages by now, so our WB and WD information was not lost.
- #TClaps to @Turnover, who called for a 2.25 mile EC run which YHC, @HOG, @Zima, and @JustForMen posted for.
- During said run, @HOG stated “he needs new friends” multiple times. Love you too, buddy!
- @Turnover managed to find quite a few hills hidden amongst the darker regions of WeFoCo.
- @JustForMen commented on how the EC run past is a bit speedy compared to his usual, but he kept pushing through!
- In total, we got an average of 4.5 miles from 9 loops this morning. STRONG. WORK.
- That also meant a total of 225 merkins and 225 bootstrap squats.
- PAX took turns leading, with @HOG, @Fender and @Greenspan often pushing the group’s pace.
- The PAX started complaining quickly, when our Warm-o-rama SSH extended all the way up to 50. FWIW, that was not the plan, but when @Fender rolled in late, YHC decided we’d stick with it until he joined us, which was around rep 49. Glad someone from @WeFoCo posted! Seriously getting concerned about @Sour_Mash… maybe he’s made about the trim in his kitchen not being done yet?
- YHC appreciates the dedication the PAX had this morning in ensuring YHC did not either A) Cut corners on the route, or B) have bad form. Rest assured that @Zima, @HOG, and @Greenspan in particular kept me on my toes and really laid into me if anything wasn’t up to snuff. That positive reinforcement sure is a blessing, and YHC is definitely better for it.
- Let it be known that @Turnover does not appreciate time updates. After the one mile mark, YHC stated: “It’s only been 16 minutes!” Which was met with a: “Thanks for that update, which NO ONE asked for…” and a collective sign from everyone around him.
- As @Greenspan pushed the pace somewhere around the 2 mile mark, he stated “I can’t keep this up”, before bolting off. It seems the 40 consecutive merkins is where he hit his breaking point and briefly napped on the asphalt.
- It was good to see @Burns and @JustForMen pair up and enjoy some #2ndF together, probably about YHC’s bad form. That makes two posts this week for @JustForMen, glad to see he’s sticking with it! Submit your account request here.
- At one point @Fender dropped back a bit, which turns out was due to a bit of knee pain. YHC circled back for him and we got across that finish line together. He said the squats didn’t hurt, so hopefully the knee is nothing serious and starts feeling better!
- @Turnover attends River Oaks, and hopefully this beatdown did not deter him from coming back on Sundays. Upon completion of the workout he said something along the lines of: “Get me the hell out of here.” Maybe that EC was not such a good idea?
- As YHC led Mary, being ever predictable with numbers and totals, the PAX (which definitely included @Zima and @Burns) promptly starting yelling “FIFTY” as we marched through our LBC’s.
- It seems that ending at 6:15 means 6:15:00 to most everyone, but YHC believe’s that you have until 6:15:59 to officially end on time. So today’s ending at 6:15:39, was still 6:15 in my book! Chime in on the comments if you think you should use that wiggle room to your advantage?
- The PAX were so ready to be done, that after we counted off, no one realized we accidentally skipped Name-o-rama. #QFAIL
- Once again, strong work today men. It was a high goal to try and attain 4-plus miles, and over 450 total reps, but we did it. Don’t forget to log your miles for #RunRangerRun, or donate if you are not on the team!
Thanks for the keys, @Burns. I left them under the ROCC welcome mat. If YHC is allowed to Q again, I can’t promise it will be any better next time, but will try to keep it under 3 miles. A pleasure to lead this morning,
Van Gogh
PS – YHC is looking to make ROCC a permanent home for an AO. The WeFoCo PAX are aware, we just need more regulars out there to make it happen. It offers a well lit parking lot (with a half mile loop achievable), an outdoor playground, lots of covered areas, benches, walls and half-walls, and a huge rock pile. Plus a hill out back, a mile of wooded trails, and a future home to pull up bars. One of our pastor’s highly supports it, so keep an eye out!

Repeat after me: I would not do this if I exercised alone. I would not do this if I exercised alone.
So thankful for you boys.
Zima
Would have been nice to have that diagram in a PRE-BLAST! Of all people, Van Gogh. Of all people to forget to send out a pre-blast …
Oh, and to be completely accurate, those corners need to be heavily rounded off.
