Jam Session in the Gloom at Run N Gun
QIC: Bueller?
Date: 03/16/20
PAX: Bout Time, Juice Box, Burlap, Red Eye, Mongoose, Balco, Butter, Mutton, Lemming
In this episode of Run N Gun; we explored a route with many turns, a Q with new technology, and a song to last a whole tabata session .. or two. But first, a word from our sponsor:
Spamtam seez: Social distancing. No partner work. This is a free workout. The hospital is over there somewhere. Modify as needed. and no hanky panky! Now back to our program.
Bueller? being the responsible Q that he is, posted the route a whopping 20 hours before the start of Run N Gun. The route incorporated a fair amount of turns and totaled right at 3.1 miles. Mutton left out early (still no one knows why) and the other PAX left right at 0530. Dark, quiet roads gave the PAX great time to chat and reflect. YHC only remembers 2-3 cars along the entire route. All PAX made it back safely and the only ones to make a wrong turn were with the Q, go figure!

After previous Q Fails, YHC decided to take some time the night before to plan out a playlist and check the apps on the phone. Good thing too. 20 mins and a new Tabata app later, we were ready. Hello female Australian trainer voice!
3 rounds of Tabata exercises consisted of Merkins/Squats; Plank-shin-taps/Low-slow-flutters; and Penguin crunches/American Hammer. More importantly, the Q brought out an epic 10:26 min long Dave Matthews rendition of “Warehouse” that lasted nearly two of those Tabata rounds. As you can imagine, the PAX were thrilled (read: unimpressed) by such great music from the Q.
We closed with a really wide COT. Prayer requests included our City and State as it goes through this difficult time of trying to control the spread of COVID-19. Particularly for two groups of people during this time 1) elderly who are separated from their family for safety (such as Mutton’s mother) and 2) school children who need meals from school for regular nutrition. Would love to hear if there is a need that the PAX can fill for either of these groups. Put it out on Twitter and lets see if we can help.
And that concludes this session of Run N Gun. We’ll see you next week!
