Too Much Weinke To Handle @Parliament 6.9.20
QIC: Burns
PAX: Zima, Offsides, Starfish, Boomerang, Schneider, Sour Mash, Rust Bucket (War Daddy), Ziggy Stardust, Burns (QIC, WB, the next youngest person at this workout was 14 when I was born)
I was joined by 8 HIM and only one repeat offender from Monday’s Outhouse (Schneider), which means he knew what he was getting into and still showed up #DRP. The remaining 7 were gladly welcomed by YHC, due to my not having posted to Parliament since our reopening and consequently not having seen many of these pax in some time. Well, except virtual HDHH. YHC has done some drinking in quarantine.
Be it noted that Zima and Offsides came in at an impressive pace from a ~3mi EC run.
Be it also noted that a mission statement was stated, and my fatigue was palpable to the pax who pointed out my enthusiastic delivery.
WoR: SSH x15 IC, Leg stretches (straight down, L over R, R over L), Abe Vigoda (slow cadence) x8, Whirlys x15 IC, Arm Swirlys F & B x15 IC, Down dog/Up dog/Merkin combo.
Slow mosey (read: walk) to rock/brick pile and select either one (1) cinder block or two (2) bricks. Much to my surprise and pleasure, all pax went with the cinder block option.
Instructions were read – Do the first exercise on the weinke, bear crawl from the dumpsters to the walkway, mosey back. Do the first two exercises, lunge walk out, mosey back. So on and so forth down the weinke, alternating bear crawls and lunge walks until time is called.
The Weinke:
- Merkins
- Reverse Lunge w/Block
- Overhead Press
- Freddie Mercuries
- Wide Merkins
- Goblet Squat
- Curls
- Low Flutter
- Diamond Merkins
- Side Lunge w/Block
- Front Raise
- Heels to Heaven
- Ranger Merkins
- Kb/Block Swing
- Dips using Block
- Plank Jacks
YHCs plan for the morning was ambitious, to say the least, but it delivered a low running, full body beat down worthy of everyone except Rust Bucket. While most pax got to round 7 or 8, Rust Bucket was well on his way through the 9th round when time was called for Mary
Mary: Low Flutter x20 IC, 10 WWIIs OYO, Muttons L & R x20 IC
NMM
Expect a future iteration of this workout to appear at a Saturday hour-long beatdown with fewer reps, YHC is thinking 12 or 15 can get us pretty far down the list.
YHC was inspired by @TSCs Groundhog Day workout from a couple years back that he has repeated a few times at Flatline.
Rust Bucket is an absolute animal. What exactly was his surgery for, again? Petition to rename as Robopax
Zima and Offsides showed that the EC run had little effect on their performance. YHC did take pleasure in passing Zima during a bear crawl at one point. Very little that I can match or outperform him in out in the gloom.
Ziggy is becoming a silent assassin akin to Manscape, Drip, Mutton, and others who you can never seem to tire and will never complain
Schneider was not amused with the merkins in the warm o rama following Monday’s merkin-heavy beatdown. It didn’t seem to stop him from dominating the workout though – glad to have you out again!
Starfish and Boomerang brought honor to all dash pax #respects today – no complaints (that I heard or filed away), just grit and determination.
Sour Mash is an inspiration. The dude just doesn’t quit. YHC would often be pausing to catch my breath and I’d look over and see him just plugging away. And when he modified off of lunge walks/bear crawls this morning, he did so to something more difficult – the overhead block mosey.
YHC knows to make going out West a priority. The HIMs who call WeFoCo home are great company and even better competitors.
Announcements& CoT:
BOLO for AO Challenge info coming out this week. All pax who complete will be supplied one (1) beer by our beloved Palin.
BOLO for info about an ongoing discussion “workout” amongst PAX interested in further education on the systemic racism plaguing our country. Hoptoberfest will be Site Q.
Prayers for our country and for Whirly’s M’s procedure this morning
Gucci, thank you for the keys. I taped them to my weinke so you have to invite me back.
