Swinging with Bluto at #BnW
QIC: Bluto
Date: 10/21/2020
PAX: Closer, Winklevoss, Interference, Balco, Toe Tag, The Singing Cowboy, Data, Zuckerberg, Manscape (WD), Organ Grinder (WB), Bluto
Bluto had swing music on the brain. The decision was made to feature bands such as Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Squirrel Nut Zippers (from Chapel Hill, BTW), Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, Brian Setzer (not Seltzer) Orchestra (hopefully fellow Simpsons fans will get the reference), Reel Big Fish, Save Ferris and Goldfinger. For a 6 month period, swing music was the hottest music on the planet. The run arguably lasted too long.
Anyway, we did 10 different exercises, one each, then ran. Then we did 2 of each exercise, then ran. Then 3 of each, then ran. You get the point. We got up to 8 of each. The run consisted of running in the dark to a light post and back. When the fastest PAX (often IF, but there were some surprises) reached the post, everyone turned back. Total mileage ranged between 1 and 2 per PAX.
The exercises were:
- Swings (of course)
- Back & Forth Squat Walk
- Bridge Chest Press
- Skull Crusher
- Greg Louganis
- Squat Double Row
- Curls (for the girls)
- Plank Pull Throughs
- Alternating Lunges
- American Hammers
Not a ton of MC; guys got after it. It was a humid morning, so YHC was kinda drenched afterward.
Prayer requests – Granny Annette (Data’s mother) coming to visit; COVID, politics, school.
Praises – Ivy League’s son, Grayson, is rehabbing well after a serious injury. Toe Tag and Hedwig will be working out with Ivy League in Charlotte in the near future.
Announcements – Walgreen’s at Yadkinville and Reynolda Roads is offering free COVID testing.
Feel free to reach out site site Qs to volunteer to Q!
YHC took us out with the usual praises and prayer requests.
Thx for the (Mustang) keys, Cowboy!
