Oh to be 22 again!

Well… this week has been brutal thanks to 4 killer beatdowns courtesy of Huckleberry, Greenspan, Drip, and Burns. Time to muster what strength I have left to put on a show worthy of what they dished out earlier in the week… just a month ago, YHC led a “22” based workout at Flatline, and the thought to work smarter/not harder (at least in terms of planning) came to mind. It was a crowd pleaser the first time around, so I thought, “Yes, this will do…”

CoT
- Cheesesteak has been site Q for 2 years, and with a little peer pressure this morning, Post Hole agreed to take over as the new Site Q for UA! Thanks for your leadership over the years Cheesesteak, and thanks for stepping up Post Hole! #HIM
- Red Pill said his church is working on a virtual prayer room to be used as a space online to continually pray for needs. Contact him if interested in learning more!
- Prayers for our country and the transition
- YHC took us out giving thanks.
NMM
- YHC showed up early to do 20 burpees, 5 for each HC. Red Pill was my witness. All 4 of the HCs showed! As a personal challenge, PAX should attempt to make at least one HC a week to hold yourself accountable and commit to PAX who step up to lead. The burpee penalty is not designed to deter HCs, rather it’s meant to help keep your word on the unwritten contract that is a Hard Commit. Leaders show commitment and are held accountable… plain and simple.
- For those in the #2021challenge, we did 110 burpees, 110 HR Merkins + 21 Merkins, 110 jump squats + 22 Copperhead squats, and 110 WWIIs…. going to have to keep these 22s coming whenever I Q on the 22nd!!
- Great to see Red Pill again, who drives in from Kernersville BTW!
- Burns rolled in, and YHC promptly pointed at him shouting “There’s the bad man who hurt me yesterday!” Posthole laughed when I explained the 190 consecutive leg movements with a block…
- Root Canal and Zima walked up at 0530 on the dot and we began the fun…
- Much hype about the previous weeks shenanigans was made, and Burns accurately pointed out that he was the only one that actually posted today. So Huck, Greenspan, and Drip… I guess I’ll get you all back at a later date!
- Zima said he was waiting for an Omaha, but it never came. At one point the Pax were gassing and his “mall walk” became our mosey pace…
- Snake Eyes might give Huck or Fender a run for their money when it comes to Burpee Speed… Dude was flying! He was also throwing articles of clothing all over the place. Over dressed??
- Lambchop was leaning on a table after the burpees were done, looking half asleep… he pushed it, and said “That was awful.” at the very end.
- Burns got motivation from the PAX for the last round, with everyone sticking together. He seemed appreciative, clapping once done.
- Cheesesteak commented this was very much like a flatline workout… and he was right. Except no pull up Q-fail this time!
- During our second round of 22s, Dr. Toot was kind and stayed downwind at the end of the wall. He also said he saw the bear crawls coming.
- Lambchop wisely modified his bear crawl distance as his shoulders recovered.
- YHC thanked Burns for the burning legs during the squat jumps.
- Cheesesteak somehow magically floated 3 times higher than any other PAX in his squat jumps.
- The PAX all want Thistle to come back so YHC will stop calling The Thistle at the end of workouts (it’s Dr. Toots fault).
Overall, a great group, fantastic effort, lots of support and encouragement, as well as some MC in between heavy breathing. What more can you ask for! Thanks for posting men! See you all at the changing of guard on the 29th (I’ll bring back the keys then) and then at Alcatraz on the 30th!
