Making People Uncomfortable @ VI

When @Snake Eyes reached out to me to Q at #VI, I was happy to accept the invitation because I’m just a good person like that and I enjoy helping other Site Q’s out. I definitely didn’t agree to Q because I knew Snake Eyes would then owe me one and I’d be able to reach out to him to Q at #Mayhem in the future. That’s definitely not the way my mind works.
Anywho, YHC was excited to Q out in the western frontier for the first time in a long time. The weather looked like it was going to be gnarly, so a beatdown that would keep us out of the potential rain was planned….then @Huckleberry HC’d and those plans went out the window…Rain or no rain, we were going to be in the elements.
The PAX gathered at the far end of the Jerry Long lot (which is apparently what they do every week, but YHC was not aware of this and initially parked like 100 yards away because I’m an idiot) and we were off. Here’s how it went:
Short mosey to the looooooooong parking lot next to the shelter for the warmup
SSH x21 IC

(let the record show that the PAX picked up on the pattern before the burpees, so they came as no surprise to anyone)
The THANG
Super 21s
PAX would start at one end of the parking lot, mosey to the far end and complete 20 Merkins, mosey back to the start and complete 1 Squat. Mosey down to the end for 19 Merkins, mosey back to the start and complete 2 squats. Follow that pattern all the way down to 1 Merkin and 20 Squats. We also stopped after the round of 15 Merkins and after the round of 8 Merkins for 21 WW2’s
This took longer than YHC had anticipated because the dadgum parking lot was so dadgum long. I think everybody got between 11-17 miles in just from moseying down and back.
Running out of time, so cut the last set short and mosey back to launch.
We all finished the last set of 1 Merkin and 20 squats together and everyone finished up the beatdown with 21 WW2’s.

All said, everyone should have gotten at least 210 Merkins, 210 Squats, 63 WW2s, and 21 Burpees in.

3 PAX got in a 2ish mile EC run. Thanks to @TSC and @Schneider for letting me tag along
On the EC run, we discussed cabinet painting techniques and the satisfaction that comes with doing things for yourself.
As we gathered and prepared to launch, YHC noted that @Snake Eye’s deep, velvety voice was a welcome addition to the group. This was received in different ways by the assembled PAX, but I can confirm that @Snake Eyes appreciated it. He also noted that he recently spoke with someone who had a much deeper voice than his own, and frankly, I don’t think that’s possible.
As the date of the beatdown was 2.1.21, the workout pretty much planned itself. There were a lot of reps and everybody put in some serious work.
Once we got into the meat of the beatdown, the PAX seemed to split into 2 groups: The Ayes/Respects and the Hates. YHC thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship that was had between the Hates. We covered everything from our shared disdain for certain professional golfers, different sports documentaries, the viability of an F3WS podcast (and that Snake Eyes would obviously be the clear cut favorite to be the voice of said podcast due to his Josh Turner-esque pipes), and the indisputable fact that Lance Armstrong is just a bad person.
We established that Huck has the Q at VI next week (2.8) and that the 7 year anniversary of VI is on 2.10, and that F3 Mocksville launches on 2.13. We wrapped all of this information into one announcement: Huck has the Q for F3 Mocksville on February 10th. #BusyMonth
It was an honor to lead this group in the gloom.
