The (Halftime) Show Goes On – RnG 2.8.2021
QIC: Burns
Date: 2/8/21
PAX: h.o.g., greenspan, closer, zuckerberg, total recall, burlap, juicebox, bueller?, glazer, bout time, boo boo, burns (QIC)
YHC was very excited for this RnG Q until it was noted last week that it was the day after the Super Bowl. This responsible Q limited himself to only half of the procured sixer and thankfully Grubhub messed up our wing order and the extra 15 weren’t around to be gobbled, otherwise there may have been a different story this morning.
The pax started off in a nice cluster and then separated into two groups as we went up Summit St. Everyone came in under 30 mins, which impressed YHC due to the two main factors working against this group – the aforementioned Super Bowl and the hills that YHC singled out on the route. It was #GrownManMonday, after all (trademark pending via @Turnover).
The route is here: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4129600375
Tabata – 3 exercises (SSH, Imperial Squatters, Mtn Climbers) each followed by WWIIs. 20s on, 10s off, we got through four full rounds and part of a fifth.
We listened to The Weeknd’s top hits while we exercised, in order to make sure that his influence over the dash pax was not limited to his superb halftime show.
Announcements: Closer has the Redline keys tomorrow, bring a thing that tells time. Drano is launching F3 Mocksville this Saturday, some details are on Facebook. Give blood on 2/20.

Greenspan and H.O.G. have taken to the Redline format so much that they run the route twice each week. Neither had posted to one until Burlap’s three weeks ago, and now they are raising the bar. It was an honor to run with them today, a feat I was only able to accomplish because they were already winded.
It was nice to chat with Closer & Zuck for part of the time, too. Zuck really turned in on the last mile – it was half-beast, half-downhill.
There was much MC about my playlist choice today. I couldn’t hear all of it because I was enjoying the music too much. I didn’t choose any of the clean versions, though…whoops.
Many side comments were made about preferring to run down Summit instead of up it.
Second St provides it’s own special challenge…lots of up and down compared to 4th St’s relative flatness.
The ice in the parking lot was not the biggest danger to the pax today. That honor comes from a pickup truck with malicious intent that rolled in to HP around 0608 and sent many a pax scurrying away.
No prayers were requested, YHC took us out with special focus on those close to us who are experiencing heightened stress, anxiety, or depression. Good is coming.
Thanks for the keys, Closer, I believe I left them atop Summit St so you’ll have to get your hiking gear out to get them back.

Nice Q Burns! The route was challenging and the Gun kept us moving.
YHC was confused about Redline. I don’t have Q there. I believe it is Suede representing the fabric brothers.
