YHC celebrated Earth Day with the PAX this morning with this famous poem:
Trees
BY JOYCE KILMER
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
Warm-0-rama:
- SSH x 50 ic
- Broga
The Workout:
- Rules:
- Each PAX attempts to recite the poem adding one line each round from memory.
- If PAX fails, the penalty is everyone does 10 burpees.
- If they succeed, they pick an exercise of their choice.
- We made it through 4 complete rounds and the PAX did impressively well at reciting the poem which meant the burpee count was far less than what YHC had anticipated. I think we only ended up with about 80 burpees and some miscellaneous ones at the end.
- In addition to the burpees, 28 (or something in that range) other exercises were performed per PAX selection. Everything from WWII to running to merkin variations.
- Solid work by all!
CoT:
- Prayers for Pony Express’ friend’s recovery in hospital.
- CSAUP lauching from Dog Pound. See Slack for details.
- Happy 46th Birthday to Crash!
- YHC took us out with prayers for wisdom and healing.
- An honor to lead these fine HIMs. Hopefully I’m not banned for another year for the sins I committed today. Thanks for letting me try again Turnover!
