Big Bang with a little bit of LEEROY JENKINS!!

QIC: Michael Bolton (WB)

Date: 5-3-2021

PAX: Burns, Wobegon, Toe Tag, Van Gogh, Drip, Tigger, Spamalot, Crash, Rustbucket, Green Acres (WD), Zima

Shoutout to those that either RIRO’d or did a run beforehand. Burns and Toe Tag did a 5k kicking off at 4:50 and Green Acres and Crash RIRO’d. Little did they all know of the PAX lead fun that was ahead of them.

Warm-O-Rama was the usual although YHC forgot the Mission Statement as part of the intro. Too focused on making sure I had the Core Principals down /facepalm

Mosey over to the playground for The Big Bang. Start in a plank around a headlamp and do the following exercises:

  • Go out 10 paces and do 10 Burpees and come back. Plank for the 6
  • 20 paces & 20 Crabettes
  • 30 paces & 30 Merkins
  • 40 paces & 40 Freddy Mercs
  • 50 paces & 50 LBCs
  • 60 paces & 60 Squats
  • 70 paces & 70 Peter Parkers

Some ended up on the field with having to go out that far, some ended up in Kernersville.

Much grumbling came when the Leeroy Jenkins was introduced before we got started on the Big Bang: (Video for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLyOj_QD4a4)

  • At any point during the workout, a PAX (once per PAX) could call out LEEROY JENKINS and everyone stopped what they were doing to do a lap around the track followed by 5 Burpees
  • YHC called the first and got the gears loosened up for others to call it. 6 in total were called during the workout
  • YHC was quick to remind them that I was not to blame for this as the other PAX controlled how often it was called

Time was called but not quickly enough before a Leeroy Jenkins was slipped in at the buzzer.

Announcements:

  • Q School on May 15th at Alcatraz
  • State of the PAX on June 5th at 7AM at Jamison Park – Short 30 min beatdown followed by 2nd F with coffee, doughnuts, and beer
  • Blood Drive on July 3rd

Prayer Requests:

  • Rebecca McKnight the Social Studies Director for Forsyth County Schools passed away last week

Solid work done by all, they made it an enjoyable VQ experience.

Innovative and nearly-fun workout! 😅. Good VQ Michael Bolton! Also, Rust Bucket RIRO. Thanks for leadership

There are few Qs, let alone VQs that rise to the level we witnessed on Monday. Although, it was a good thing that Burlap was not there. We hit just about 2 miles for a bootcamp workout…bordering on excessive. Well done Mr. Bolton, well done. We see great things in your future!
