YHC had two goals for today: get a couple miles in and try out the recently revamped “far corner” of Hanes Park at the intersection of Hawthorne and Glade. Six pax joined me to see if we could check the boxes

The Thang:
Mosey from the launch lot around the park long ways via BLIMPS:
- Burpees x5 at the base of the Intimidator
- Lunges x10 each leg in the Joymongers parking lot
- Imperial Walkers x15 in the gravel lot by the baseball field
- Merkins x20 outside the Reynolds Gym
- Plank Jacks x25 in the Wiley carpool lot
- Squats x30 at the destination spot – the fancy new picnic area
Traverse down the stairs to the nice grassy area by the creek…I believe some folks might refer to it as a ‘glade’ or a ‘dell’, but those terms may not be interchangeable and I could be way off in my recollection of their meanings. Sound off in the comments below
Partner up for more BLIMPS – this time partner A stays in the valley and completes AMRAP while partner B runs up the stairs, around the top of the picnic area, and back down the stairs on the other side. 45 stairs up, 26 stairs down. Flapjack and continue through all six exercises.
Upon completion we moseyed back up the stairs to the picnic area for some layers of dip
- 25 dips, 25 irkins
- 20 dips, 20 step ups
- 15 dips, 15 squats to the bench
- 10 dips, 10 derkins
- 5 dips, 5 burpees

Announcements: Sea Man has his VQ tomorrow at the Distillery. Van Gogh has WIB – meet in the church lot across from the Polo Rd entrance to WFU…will be moseying to Kentner. The Shmed is coming up…there will be an officially sanctioned 5K sponsored by Twin City Track Club as part of the festivities. Blood Drive July 3rd – D Day is point man
Prayer Requests: Praises for the good news that Giles & his M received this week. Prayers for Lambchop & his M as they try for pregnancy. Greenspan told me after the fact that he became very worried when we began our mosey towards Pilot View. I replied that no one wants to avoid PV more than YHC.
A concerning amount of chatter centered around Blue Steel possibly wearing a speedo to the pool. Also discussed was the lack of flattering one-piece suits for women that don’t show 90% of their posterior.
Major #kotters to Snapchat, who declined my invitation to join us at WIB tomorrow but gave a soft commit to Conspiracy next week. It’s been nearly 3 years since he last posted!
