Idiotic Mini-Doras in the Village
QIC: Sassy
Date: 10/11/2021
PAX: Data, Schneider, Starfish, Spicoli, Seaman, Sassy
YHC made a triumphant return to the premier Monday WeFoCo workout, Village Idiocy. The weather was surprisingly misty, but enabled us to stay cool as we were going to warm up quickly in this workout! YHC stumbled across this workout in the phone notes section and wondered if this workout had actually been led before. When it was determined that it didn’t matter, the plan was set and it went something like this.
Warm-o-Rama
SSH x15 IC
Copperhead Squats x10 IC
Abe Vigoda x10 IC
Whirly with the Clap x10 IC
Toy Soldier x15 IC
Mosey to the front track
The Thang
Instead of doing partner work via Dora, YHC came up with mini individual Doras, as one PAX put it, not close to Dora at all. Each PAX has their own opinion, but no deviating from the plan now…and it sucked right out of the gate.
Round 1: Between exercises, Lunge Walk halfway across soccer field and mosey back
50 Mountain Climbers (each leg)
100 SSHs
150 Fast Feet
Round 2: Between exercises, Carioca halfway across soccer field and mosey back (NOTE: YHC improperly said Apollo’s Creed, which apparently is the one where you don’t cross your legs, whoops). Also of note, YHC googled “F3 Apollo’s Creed” and YHC’s Q from Parliament on 9/22/2020 where we did Mini Doras was, in fact, where this idea was born…
50 Hand Release Merkins
100 Imperial Squat Walkers
150 LBCs
Round 3: Apollo’s Creed halfway across soccer field and mosey back
50 Lunges (25 each leg)
100 Plank Jacks
150 Alternating Shoulder Taps
One more round was written; however, we ran out of time. Mosey back to parking lot for Mary.
Mary
Mutton Crunch x15 IC each side
Penguin Crunch x15 IC
Mutton Crunch-like stretch each side before time is called.
Announcements/Prayer Requests
PAX needed for GreeNest this Saturday. See Starfish or Seaman for information about getting involved!
No spoken prayer requests. YHC took us out.
NMM
Burns has free rent in Spicoli’s head. While those of us were doing this extremely difficult workout, Spicoli was just doing burpees the whole workout for “Burns’ Challenge”. Seemed like the easier choice for Spicoli because he’s a freak, just sayin’.
Seaman is doing a fine job of continuing the exemplary job of being site Q at VI. Snake Eyes taught him well, thankful he was the Site Q Emeritus and not the one Snake Eyes had!
Schneider mentioned early and often that Sour Mash was supposed to be there. Schneider also didn’t run this morning, which is weird considering he’s become a running machine as of late! He also loves Backstreet Boys.
Starfish grinded his way through the workout and was putting others around him to shame, nothing new for Starfish!
Data is clearly a B&W regular. We got to the soccer field and there was already a question about “Where are the tunes???”. YHC obliged with Sirius/XM’s 90s station, which promptly went from Backstreet Boys to 2Pac in two of the first three songs. That was all the motivation Data needed to dominate the workout with relative ease.
It was fun this morning, gentlemen!
