Does This Road Go Anywhere?
QIC: Greenspan
Date: 3/23/22
PAX: Burns (EC runner), Van Gogh, Adobe, Subfloor, Crash, High Cotton, Splash, Workbench, Greenspan
Warmarama:
Started slowly, at pax’s request, with typical hamstring stretches, up/down dawg combo, SSHs, Abe Vigodas, Whirlies, and Cherry Pies.
The Thang:
Mosey to bottom of Hill to Nowhere and partner up for round 1 of mountain ascent. Partner A runs to the top and performs Dive Bombers x 10; Partner B performs merkins AMRAP. Flip-Flop.
Mosey through the bus lot, which was revving up, to the wall on the backside of the school (within sight of Casa de Zima). Pax were instructed to have a seat on the wall for the following circuit:
- Head, Shoulders, Knees, Toes x 25
- Mike Tysons x 25
- Can Cans x 25
- Rebound Drill x 25
- Donkey Kicks x 25
Mosey back to launch shelter for Mary Tabata; 30 seconds on, 10 seconds recovery. Exercises were:
- SSHs
- ISTs
- Mountain Climbers
- WW1s
- Leg Lifts (NOT H2H)
- Scissor Kicks
- Knee Tucks (NOT Gas Pumps)
- Low Flutters
- Peter Parkers
- Gas Pumps
- Rolling Planks
- Heels to Heaven
- Freddie Mercs
Mosey back to bottom of Hill to Nowhere for round 2; Partner A runs to the tops and performs Dive Bombers x 10; Partner B performs squats AMRAP. Flip-flop.
Mosey to launch for 4-count merkins x 10.
Finished.
NMM:
- No progress had been made on the hill going somewhere between rounds 1 & 2.
- Van Gogh pounded out 100(!) merkins before Burns descended the mountain in round 1. And he did it with PERFECT form with 2 or more witnesses.
- Great to meet Adobe who 1) cruised through the workout and 2) handed out flyers for the outreach convergence (Palin’s birthday) on 4/2/22. T-claps.
- Workbench, site Q, was satisfied with the QIC’s services by the end of the wall work. Compensation was deducted for the subsequent Mary Tabata and Round 2 of the Hill.
- Subfloor was moving fast all morning and was still pumping out merkins when his partner returned from the hill.
- Crash seemed satisfied with his life choices this morning, post-workout.
- High Cotton is in foot recovery mode and made wise modifications to the called exercises.
- Splash had a good time and was so excited that he took his shirt off and left it in the parking lot.
- But not before he got a demo of Perpees (the perfect burpee). He wasn’t a fan.
- Basking in his 1st F coronation, Burnsy towed YHC on a 2-mile EC pre-workout. We had the opportunity to see many rabbits and discuss progress on his homestead in the Shenandoah Valley.
- There was much confusion and consternation during Mary Tabata about how Leg Lifts differ from H2Hs and how Knee Tucks differ from Gas Pumps.
- Positive reviews on the variation of Huck’s 3 merkins. Instead of a 10-count x 3 reps, YHC went the 4-count x 10 reps route.
- There was relief when YHC did not call “Repeato” on round 1 of the hill & merkins.
- YHC has incorporated a Mary Tabata in the last 2 Qs, somewhat plagiarizing Cherry Pie. Expect it to continue.
Great to be back at Mayhem after a prolonged absence made all the better by the fine fellows that joined me.
Thanks for the keys, Workbench; you’ll have to go back up the hill again to retrieve them.
Announcements:
- Birthday party convergence on April 2nd at Hanes Park at 0700. Palin is hosting and asks that regular pax bring a small donation for refreshments. Workout to be Qed by Spicoli, Seaman, and Crash. Workout preceded by Q school at 0600, Qed by the new 1st F Q, Burns!
Prayer Requests:
- Ukraine.
YHC took us out.
