A Call to the Bullpen for The Distillery
QIC: Turnover
Date: 6.24.22
PAX: Schneider , Sour Mash , Eye Candy , Harden , U Turn (WD?) , Turnover (WB , Q)
When the call went out on Wednesday evening that we had a #HIM in need, it was the least that YHC could do to pick up his Q responsibilities at #TheDistillery for this fine morning.
Short on prep time, but long (?) on good ideas, a plan quickly came together. The question was: which of #WeFoCo’s finest would answer the call? Let’s get to it.
0530: No intro, no Mission statement, no CP’s…we’re moseyin’ baby. Mosey around parking lot back to launch.
This was met with utter disdain and revolt by almost all in attendance. The #Flatline-esque start was…unexpected to say the least.
Back at launch, we went through the standard intro, Mission Statement, and CP’s along with a little Warm o Rama consisting of the Usual Suspects.
Onto The Thang
PAX were instructed to grab a cinder block and rendezvous back under the shelter. At which point, we partnered up and one partner from each pairing left their cinderblock at the shelter.
Next, we hauled the cinderblocks up to the parking lot and YHC set a conveniently available parking cone (the big kind…not the small, not-actually-a-cone-but-literally-an-orange-cup-kind….you know who you are) about 25-30 yards away from our “Work Station”
Partner 1 would stay at the work station and perform the following exercises/reps
12 Bent Over Rows
10 Block Merkins
8 Front Raises (not to be confused with curls)
6 Squat Thrusters
4 KB/Cinderblock Swings
2 Blockees
Partner 2 would be positioned at work station 2, parallel to the legitimate orange parking cone.
While Partner 1 is performing the aforementioned exercises, Partner 2 is performing an active recovery exercise of their choice (Mtn Climbers, SSHs, WW2s, Lateral Line Jumps were the recommended options)
After completing the exercises, Partner 1 would John Cusack his way down the length of the parking lot and pass the block off to Partner 2 who would then Cusack down to Work Station 1 and perform the same set of exercises.
Each PAX/pairing completed 4 full rounds of the exercises.
Next, head back down to the shelter.
Everyone grabs their block and performs 3 sets of the following w/o any rest between sets:
25 Curls (not to be confused with Front Raises)
25 Dips (Cinderblock not required)
25 LBCs
Everyone completed their 3 sets w/ 1 minute to spare. We returned our cinderblocks to the place where @Sour Mash keeps his bike and reconvened back at the shelter.
Done.
CoT
Praise for Eye Candy’s father, daughter, and safe work travels
Prayers for @Bevo’s 2.o Dean who suffered a broken leg on Wednesday night*.
*At the time of this writing, to the best of YHC’s knowledge, @Bevo and family are still in the hospital with Dean awaiting PT evaluation. Continued prayers for @Bevo and his family.
YHC took us out thanking Him for the accountability and push F3 provides and lifting up Eye Candy and Bevo
NMM
Just before YHC rattled the brains of the PAX by calling for an immediate mosey at 0530, there was some discussion between @Sour Mash, @Schneider, and @Harden about some type of punishment for @60 Minutes for not posting. It sounded…..unpleasant.
As previously stated, #WeFoCo regulars: decidedly NOT in favor of moseying prior to Warm o Rama. #noted
YHC was very nervous around 0529 when only 5 PAX had assembled…the planned beatdown simply would not work w/ uneven numbers, so @U Turn pulling in at the last minute was a very welcome sight
Speaking of which, it was great getting to meet @U-Turn and @EyeCandy for the first time. @U-Turn started F3 just last weekend and this was already his 3rd post. He also shared during CoT some of his solo training habits, some of which included logging 17 miles on Saturdays…….unsettling as that is, he seems like the right kind of crazy for F3. Great work man!
YHC enjoyed excellent partner work and push from @EyeCandy. Dude was locked in all morning.
@Sour Mash and @Harden apparently have pretty big house renovation projects going on right now. It was unclear if either of them had engaged @VanGogh for consulting services.
@Harden was celebrating a birthday. And not just any birthday. He joined the ranks of the Aye’s and left his Hate days behind him. Congrats, my friend. Word on the street is it’s all down hill from here.
@Schneider was flying through his reps all morning, unfazed and unimpressed by the Q’s attempts to tire him.
MAJOR Q fail on the part of YHC for not writing the reps/exercises for Work Station 1 on cardboard. The PAX, understandably, had a hard time remembering everything that was called. In my defense, everyone was treated to a phenomenal playlist to listen to while they were wondering what exercises to perform. #You’reWelcome
@Sour Mash was very concerned, almost all morning, that we wouldn’t have enough time to return our cinderblocks to his outdoor bike garage in time. It turns out it only takes about 1 minute to accomplish that task. #TheMoreYouKnow
It’s always an honor to lead the #HIM’s of #WeFoCo. Thanks for the keys, @60Minutes. I think I dropped them near Mash’s bike and the quickly growing cinderblock graveyard.
