Flatline, always a challenge, always glad I came.  Cars came in, guys stretched out. 530, and we mosey off.

Mosey over to the amphitheater. Circle up. Alt lunges and go for Campfire discussion.

Campfire: 2nd Core Principle: Free of charge. Reflections on this? May be free, but what have you found yourself spending money on as a result of F3? Would it work if we all paid $10 a month, Netflix-style, on the credit card?

Good comments on this. Putting in money changes the dynamic. Qs would demand pay. Harder to recruit new guys. At this point, Cherry Pie advised us not to awaken the economist with this question. We poked the bear and got great comments: opportunity cost, investment, an improvement in other aspects of your life as a result, and more efficiency in your day afterward. Good stuff. All agreed perhaps more money spent on shoes.

Mosey back to the AO. We picked up Spicoli at this point. Fishtbump.

OYO. Run down the center of lot to the far end at a dead-ass sprint. Go to the right corner and perform the routine. Then go to the other side. Then mosey back down the side. 30 Squats at the far wall, repeat-O till we call it.

 

Right Side: 

  • 10 merkins
  • 10 Dry Docks
  • 10 plank jacks

 

Left side:

  • 10 LBCS
  • 10 Muttons (5 each side, that is)
  • 10 heels to heaven

 

Did this for 15 mins or so.  Let’s mosey.

 

Down the street to find a small parking lot. Circle up for the rotation, 20 reps each, IC:

Spicoli texted YHC to get our location, which I missed. We found him sprinting around downtown, and he jumped right in.

Prayers of gratitude for Cherry Pie’s empty nest refilling after traveling by the 2.0s. Extended grace and patience to kids, parents, and teachers all at the end of summer.

    Solid workout, great message. Hate I missed the free of charge discussion.

    I’ll say this: what made going to the YMCA fun for me and my partner was the community we formed there more than the facilities or Abby given workout format. That all fell apart with COVID. Of course I could try going back there and scrap together those still around or gather a new group but I get that and more from F3 and only have so much time for working out.

    The investment in relationships and accountability that comes with those relationships is what made me show up this morning even though I snoozed my alarm and missed the first 10 minutes working out together. Doing something is better than nothing in my book.
