Always lovely to attempt to lead pax at the premier kettlebell workout.  YHC can often be a “glass half empty” kinda guy, at least when it comes to self-talk, so decided to share that love with the pax!  And because negative weightlifting exercises is a real thing and a good change of pace.

First bit of negativity, YHC overslept for the usual pre-workout ruck that happens with certain pax!  (we’ll ignore the positive, that nobody else showed up, so YHC didn’t actually stand anybody up, and the positive, when you try to wake up at 0415 and oversleep, you can still make an 0530 workout)

Second bit of negativity, in the fog of trying to get out the door, YHC left his phone at the house, so the special playlist that was created would go unused. (ignoring the positive, that Transcript was kind enough to share his phone so we had tunes)

Third negative, Balco saw who was at the workout, and promptly left saying “I’d rather do anything else than workout with y’all.” (at least that’s what the Q heard)

So, properly feeling negative, the pax got started!

  • Tunes were lovely
  • Assuming big vacation week aided lower than usual numbers, rather than going negative and assuming pax don’t like YHC
  • Pax were generally limited in vocalizing cadence to help the Q keep track of how many reps we had done
  • Chowdah is ready for fall camp to start, too bad the fullback position doesn’t get used as much any more.
  • Lace was encouraged to run to entrance and back during lung busters hoping he might break a sweat
  • Traffic was brisk on main drag, most cars slowed down a little.  The Q thought he reserved the road with the HOA.
  • Pax got 2 out of 3 “what movie was this song played in” impromptu game!

Prayers

  • Chowdah, divorce finalizing
  • Kids heading back to schools and new schools/colleges
  • Negativity in our minds, communities, social media feeds – help us to be agents of light and hope
  • Lemming’s pup currently in Delaware after making an unplanned run for maple syrup on recent fam vacation.  He was found after several days and will be reunited with the Ewing clan this weekend!
