New Discovery at UA
QIC: Ziggy
Date: 9/9/2022
PAX: Post Hole, Cheesesteak, Crash, Chick-Flick, Transcript, Lamb Chop, Ziggy Stardust (QIC), Bladerunner (FNG)
Urban Assault is one of YHC’s favorite AOs but unfortunately I am not a regular there so decided to stick close to the starting spot in order to not to get everyone lost. I had also made the irrational decision to go for the IPC this year at the last minute , so was recovering from that at Distillery the day before and decided to make this a bear crawl free beatdown. A fine group of fellas assembled including an FNG Ryan (now known as Bladerunner)
WARM UPS
SSH, Abe Vigoda, Whirleys, Up and Down Dogs
Start off with some BOMBS to make our way to the first station
Burpees x 5
Overhead Claps x 10
Merkins x 10
WWII Situps x 10
Squats x 10
We did the first set at the fountain starting spot, ran up to the corner of Patterson and 5th for the second, then ran back down to a spot across the street from the starting spot, then finished up with #4 at the first station for the next round of exercises.
YHC discovered an alternative way into the building housing the Incindiery that was apparently unknown till this morning. We found some benches (too rickety for most) and steps and finished warm ups with dips x 12, derkins x 12, LL stepups x 12, RL stepups x 12, merkins x 12, repeating once.
To THE WALL, where PAX lined up for the burpee competition.
#1 all hold people’s chair, each PAX in succession runs out to the designated spot, does 1 burpee, then returns. Next PAX then goes till the end of the line.
#2 all do Mike Tyson’s and repeat with another burpee down the line.
#3 all hold people’s chair while each PAX does 10 jack reachers in succession to the end of the line.
On to the PARKING GARAGE/RAILROAD TRACKS for partner work pullups/abs.
One partner does 10 pullups while the other does LBCs, then switch off to finish round
next 8 pullups with American Hammers
next 6 pullups with Freddie Mercuries
next 5 pullups with low flutter
RETURN TO THE START
With some time to spare, YHC decided to start off with some howling monkies (10x each going around the circle to finish).
Each PAX then called out an exercise of choice, ranging from shoulder taps (x20), box cutters, mountain climbers, superman flips (?), and some others, with a RING OF FIRE finale to finish up right at time.
NMM
Lambchop brought out our FNG Ryan, who it turns out coaches track and field which explained a lot later! It also gave him the deserving nickname Bladerunner.
It turns out there are many variations of the simple Burpee. Have to give the prize to Cheesesteak for form and flair.
A couple of Omaha’s and some winging it at the end, but everyone stepped up and strong work by all!
ANNOUNCEMENT
Transcript continues to work on organizing new GAS groups. Anyone interested should contact him as he works on finalizing the groups.
PRAYERS AND PRAISE
Praise for Lambchop and wife with their new one on the way!
YHC took us out. Thanks for the keys Post Hole, and always an honor to get to lead!
