YHC has been listening to Sirius XM’s “Seventies on 7” channel A LOT lately.  Such a great variety of genres in that decade.  Definitely scratches YHC’s eclectic musical taste itch.  So, we decided we would celebrate the seventies with a loose workout theme accompanied by a soundtrack of the Top Ten Songs of Seventies on 7* (as voted by the Seventies on 7 listeners).

YHC almost pivoted to an “All-Disco” playlist based on the preblast chatter, but decided to stick with the original plan of having the Top Ten of the 70s as our soundtrack.  We realized that it was a pretty mellow decade by the end and we also realized the importance of getting out the vote as there were some notable missing songs/bands (no Fleetwood Mac, no Bruce, etc).

@Subfloor was disappointed that he had stumbled onto the “Oldies” channel since even Nirvana is now considered classic rock.

@Sea-Man seemed to particularly enjoy “Brandy” (#3) because, well, you know his life his love and his lady…..is the sea.

The Perry brothers were reminiscing about seeing John Denver (#10) back in the Eighties

@DramaQueen knew all the words.

@Huckleberry was extremely excited that #SquattyPotties were on the agenda.  His royalty check is in the mail.

@Workbench has his second Q (and third workout in a row) of the week at #Mayhem tomorrow.

10 minutes is a long time.  Especially with no running breaks.

Lots of looong songs in the seventies….only took 10 songs to fill out the workout playlist, including the intro.

Here’s the playlist:

10.  Take Me Home, Country Roads (John Denver)

4.  Hotel California (Eagles)
3.  Brandy (You’re A Fine Girl) (Looking Glass)

It was an honor and a privilege to lead this morning.
