Keyboard Workout
QIC: Subfloor
Date: 11/12/2022
PAX: Cruiser, Offsides, Gretel, Rudolph, Van Gogh, Adobe, FNG Wild Thing
Warm-O-Rama: SSHs, Abe Vigoda, Whirly with a Clap, Arm Swirly Things, Things Swirly Arms (This needs to catch on for reverse), Seal Claps, OH Claps, almost all to the count of 11. Of course Van Gogh had to do Michael Phelps on his own, couldn’t leave his arms unbalanced. Went to plank and tried to do some yoga stretches, which Q utterly failed but almost ended up uncontrollably laughing.
The Thang:
Started with the theme tunes before the workout even began. The theme was keyboards in rock music: Come Sail Away by Styx, Foreplay/Long Time by Boston, The Final Countdown by Europe, Rainbow in the Dark by Dio, Jekyll and Hyde Suite by Pilot Drift (there was a lot of chatter about what this was, go check them out), Jump by Van Halen, Mr. Roboto by Styx (apparently everyone loves this song), Hush by Deep Purple, Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf, Tom Sawyer by Rush, Light My Fire by The Doors, and after workout music Fooling Yourself by Styx (apparently they emphasize the keys), and Separate Ways by Journey.
We mosey’d to get a block and started the Major Scales workout. Each set was based on the major scales, starting with C. The exercises were Curls, Dips, Elf on the Shelf, Freddie Mercury, Gorilla Humpers (like monkey humpers but wider stance), American Hammers, Burpees, and ended on the octave of Curls again. 11 each, so first round was 88. Apparently, there was no one who is musical because they had no idea what was going on, what was coming next, or that there is 88 keys on piano.
After each round we Carioca’d to pull up bars and did 5. It was a good breather. Then Carioca’d back.
Next round was G so started on Gorilla Humpers (Van Gogh mentioned that you should make sure to enunciate this when talking with your wife or she may here something else), and continue up the scale. The added wrinkle is one note is now sharp # so that one you do double (22) reps which would be the F.
This was continued for each major scale: D, A, E, B with a new note adding a sharp and doubling the reps. Pax kept saying these were made up, but go check Wikipedia. We ended up stopping at F# scale so with the pull ups, we did 871 total reps or so.
Blocks were returned and headed back for some mary. I think we did low flutters, Adobe named Hello Dolly aka low dolly, box cutters, and ended with an especially long body destroyer to scare the FNG. YHC may have ended less than a minute early, but no witnesses could confirm.
Cruiser had to match Rudolph by doing American Hammers with his block. Van Gogh and Gretel modified the burpees, but had completed a Murph at Super Max. Offsides was especially persnickety about the exercises, especially Elf on the Shelf, but there aren’t many that start with E. Adobe enjoyed the music. Rudolph kept everyone motivated. Probably due to him rocking the mustache. Someone said you must have a strong chin to rock the ‘stache, which Q said he did, both of them.
There was a FNG who did keep up well. Ended up naming him Wild Thing.
Circle of Trust:
Lots of convergences going on in the next couple of months. Couple of prayer requests for those dealing with cancer.

Subfloor, you nerve disappoint with a well thought out theme AND a killer Beatdown. Adding killer music to the mix completed the Trifecta for a great Q. Thanks for your leadership, we are all now better (and feeling it tonight) because of you! #TClaps!
Welcome, Wild Thing! He did great, hope to see him again in the Gloom soon!!
