Fatherly Advice
QIC: Lamb Chop
Date: 1/21/23
PAX: Palin, Schlitz, Spicoli, Chit Chat, Drip, Buyout, Tonka, Ziggy, Mutton, Lamb Chop
Mere days before the impending birth of my daughter, and APB was put out to gather the PAX for one last Lamb Chop Q where he could bring the pain, and the PAX could bring the fatherly advice.
The Q actually had no plan in mind this chilly morning. No oversized wienky, no inspiration from a past posting, nothing. Instead, I decided to wing it, just like how I plan to do the next few weeks of fatherhood.
Warm-o-Rama
20 SSH, 15 Imperial Walkers, 10 Abe Vigoda, 10 Cherry Pie forward and back. Then a quick mosey around the track.
The Thang
Mosey to the circle and partner up for some Dora 1,2,3. 100 Merkins, 200 LBC, 300 Squat. One partner runs up to first stop sign, then back down and switch off. Every other run, run up backwards.
Once completed, we all mosied up to the first stop sign for more Dora! 50 Burpees, 100 WWII, 150 Pulse Squats.
Once complete, mosey up to next stop sign for, you guessed it, more Dora! 100 Diamond Merkins, 200 Mutton Crunch. 300 of some leg exercise.
Mosey back to start and that was time!
We also had an awesome demonstration of how to give CPR. I learned that, if the person is breathing, they probably don’t need CPR. So just because Schlitz appeared to be passed out on top of the Intimidator, his heart was still working because his chest was still heaving.
NMM
It was so good seeing Chit Chat back out in the gloom. After receiving his full allotment of at least 7 hours of sleep, he decided to brave the elements and join us. He did live up to his name and continually tell the Q how terrible this was and how cold his face was. The rest of the Q, even the shirtless Buy Out provided many words of wisdom for me as I endeavor to go on this great adventure of fatherhood.
Parting thoughts:
Listen fellas. I cherish these mornings with you. I have received more wisdom and advice that has truly done wonders for my marriage and life that I could have ever imagined. You have helped me reason through difficult discussions with my wife, how to handle certain situations, how to react, and the list goes on. I am able to get it all out of my head first thing in the morning, and go back home with a clear mind and a bigger heart because you have all poured your wisdom into me from your own experiences. Thank you. And for fatherhood, you men have set the example and the stage for me. You have discussed your struggles with your kids, have shown the sacrifice it takes to be a dad, and time and time again have told me it has been your most worth while job you have ever undertaken. I cannot wait to join the ranks with you all.
Might be a minute before I am back out, but I will see you all again soon!
