“Put Me in Coach”
QIC: Lysol
Date: 02/72/2023
PAX: Hedwig, Silent Bob, Boo Boo, Woodpecker, Closer, Mutton, Cheerio, JuiceBox, Burlap, Lysol
PAX of 10 joined Lysol (Kotters) for some Spring Training RNG at Truist Stadium. Burlap arrived early in a replacement car, apprtly the Toyota (or Honda??) he’s driven foe 30yrs was acting up (am radio issues? Handcrank?)…in any case it was good to see Mr Burlap looking fit as per usual! Others rolled in and we launched promptly at 0530. Mutton and Burlap led the way while Cheerio and YHC held the backline. Around the park 5x was the intended goal, most completed the run portion and a few (Cheerio and YHC) did yeoman work. Some MC about the steep hill down the 1st base side, but mostly a tame PAX. Gunning portion was accompanied by a fine selection of baseball tunes featuring (John Fogerty, The Boss, and Whiskey Falls)…some merkins, LBC, squats, Ala thrusters, burpees were enjoyed. MLB time clock was used for both the run and gun portion, so we ended promptly at 0615! All agreed that John Fogerty’s Centerfield song is the penultimate diamond song! Spring Training was enjoyed by all! “Put me in coach!”

The BAD: Running either up or down for three consecutive miles. Being overweight and hauling myself up that nasty little steep hill to Green St.
The GOOD: being with the pax that I have known for nine years (Lysol); running with Mutton; the music selection; the weather; being protected by the police officers behind the stadium; being with Pax that I just met recently (Silent Bob); ok, getting smoked by Hedwig, Silent Bob, Closer, and Woodpecker but not getting lapped.
Well, it seems the GOOD outweighed the BAD.
Drove my Highlander to work today. Still running. “I’m not dead yet.”

Fantastic to have Lysol back out in the gloom with a great Q! Thanks for taking us to the ballgame.
