They day began with all 14 PAX lined up in a nontraditional manner – in the form of line. We participated in stretching calves, quads, and other various leg and glute muscles.
PAX wondered what happened to the Side Straddle Hop. What workout doesn’t begin with SSH. Their fears were silenced by a somewhat embarrassing experience on display for all those driving by on Polo Rd.
This custom exercise was inspired by the SNL Skit: More Cowbell. PAX partnered up. One gentleman did squats while the other rotated around them doing a Side Straddle Hop – the closeness, awkwardness, and inappropriateness was chosen by each individual. Modify as necessary.
PAX commented: ” Couldn’t this be done behind the school at the rockpile?”
We moved our group to the pool deck and begin synchronized dips. One member at the end of the bench dropped one inch in a dip fashion, then the next, next…until we go to the end of the line and we dropped 2 inches. We repeated this until we were almost at the ground…and then repeated this process 4x.
Leg step-ups and urkens (spelling?) were completed while we were still at this subAO location.
We also completed a game of Duck, Duck, Lunge. PAX assembled into a tight circle while one member walked around the circle and chose a “goose”. The goose chase was conducted was completed in the form of a lunge walk by both… while the remaining PAX completed ab exercises and cheered on the awkwardly moving participants.
PAX moseyed to the rock pile and chose a rock of their liking. We did a wall sit against the school while we once again visited the art form of synchronized exercises. This time we all started with bus drivers and then transitioned to overhead press. We moved down the line until the end…and then back to the beginning.
While rock/bird was still in hand we completed…
- 15 overhead press, 15 skull crushers, 15 bent over rows (or something like that…my memory is failing)…then a lap around the circle
- 10, 10, 10 of the same
- 5, 5, 5 of the same
Rocks were “gently” returned to their location and then we moseyed to the field.
PAX assembled into 2 lines of 7 facing each other. We passed the frisbee to the person across from us and moved down the line. If you were waiting for the frisbee to be caught or thrown you were doing various exercises. (Squats, Merkins, Storm Troopers, etc.)
We finished our last 10ish minutes with a game of Ultimate Frisbee. YHC did a poor job explaining the rules but in the end we were successful. I believe we tied. If you dropped the frisbee or made a poor throw you had to do 3 burpees. Many burpees were completed. Including some by YHC when he threw the disc to @Burlap who wasn’t on his team.
Calories were burned and fun was had by all.
Thank you for the opportunity to embarrass others @Undertow

For sure the most laughter at any workout in memory. Thanks for a fun time Woodpecker! ❤️
Burlap
This was adult recess in a good way. We could tell who played frisbee in college bs those who actually studied.
