The 10th and Final 22 Beatdown
QIC: Van Gogh
Date: 10/22/2024
PAX: @hotdish (Former FNG Chris Park), @Spicoli, @Frostbite, @Brown Bag, @Zima (Doubling Down), @Uga, @van.gogh (QIC)
Back when High Life started, it brought back memories of Outkasts, the Bolton Park AO where YHC really bonded with a few PAX (who sadly no longer post) early on in YHC’s F3 tenure. The late night smaller group offers up a different type of 2ndF. So it was good to finally get out to Miller Park, and lead a Q – which Frostbite wisely setup long ago having seen the magical 22nd day day align. YHC opted to put together a magical set of 22s, comprised of YHCs favorite things: Mike Tysons, Pull Ups, Bear Crawl, and American Hammers.
Would this be the final 22 beatdown ever… probably not. But it would be the last one of the challenge this year!
Warm-o-rama
- Mission Statement / Core Principles!
- SSH x 22 IC
- Mosey around from the parking lot to the left trail, around to the restrooms
The Thang
- 22s
- 2 Mike Tysons
- Bear Crawl to the AARP playground
- After the first round, the 6 could mosey to the AARP center and as he passed PAX, they could end their bear crawl. This did a good job of keeping the group together.
- 20 Pull Ups
- American Hammers x 22 OYO or until the 6 is up, also did a good job of keeping us together
- Mosey to parking lot and around back to restrooms
- Repeato until reps have flip flopped to 20 and 2 for respective exercises..

- Former FNG Chris Park, now known as Hot Dish, is originally from Minnesota – where they call a Casserole a Hot Dish. He brought himself out, after hearing about F3 at a Mt. Tabor track meet where he spoke with one of his kids teammates’ moms whose husband does F3, but he couldn’t remember their name. So he wisely opted to come to the evening workout where he had a lower chance of getting lost. He works in IT, had some great sports knowledge, seemed for a second like Zima wouldn’t get along with him due to some conflicting interests; however, they seemed to bond over their discussion with the Yankees.
- YHC made reference to the upcoming Hear The Call original musical at River Oaks, it will legitimately exceed every expectation you would have.
- Spicoli is taking over UA! Passing of the Torch this Friday 10/25!
- November 17th, Backyard Ultra, sponsored by the Speakeasy!
- YHC took us out giving thanks for the park, for the freedoms we take for granted, and for the bodies we are blessed with.
NMM
- YHC was gifted 5 extra minutes from the PAX in order to complete our round of 22s. YHCs efforts to keep the PAX together, plus extra time with the disclaimer, took us over. Thank you for the extra time, YHCs OCD tendencies would have eaten me alive had we not finished!
- Total reps were 110 Mike Tysons, 110 Pull Ups, about .5 miles of bear crawl, and just under 2 miles of running. Add in ~110 American Hammers, and the PAX were beat. At least the weather was amazing!
- First time meeting Uga, and second time meeting Brown Bag, glad to see High Life is getting a solid crew of regulars!
- Uga rolled up a little late and missed the disclaimer, where YHC apologized for this being a tough one – especially for an FNG.
- Hot Dish did very well during the beatdown, and no Merlot was spilled!
- Second time working out with Brown Bag, who RIROed, and as a fellow Ginger, YHC is glad he’s amongst the PAX making us look good!
- Site Q and Nantan Frostbite was both welcoming to our FNG, and beastly. He flew through the pull-ups like he’s been going to SuperMax for 2 years straight.
- Spicoli showed up ONTIME and was the PAX who suggested the name HotDish. Once he found out our FNG worked in IT, Spicoli knew he made a new friend. It did lead to some extra mumble chatter, and some time delays while trying to keep us together, but toward the end Spicoli was still going strong. Especially after recently completing the Pushups for Daniel challenging and doing 751 pushups with ChitChat!! #HIM
- Zima boldly doubled down at High Life after having posted at Parliament as well. He was not a fan of the call for more Bear Crawl after the block pushes earlier that morning, but he can always be relied on for pushing the pace! It was his idea to add American Hammers to keep the PAX together, he knows YHC so well…
The 22 Challenge has been a fun thing to do in order to Thwart Burns from stealing YHCs favorite day. Why 22? No reason really, just a fun thing that grew of F3 and YHCs desire to do high rep count beatdowns around a lazy theme of Day of the Month. It’s been fun! YHC appreciate all 62 PAX who came out to at least 1. The winner of the grand prize will be declared at the Christmas Party! Until then, YHC needs to get to work on those prizes he promised to make…
