Monday the 27th in the year 2025 of our Lord. This happened to be the day after my Dad’s 72nd birthday. No better way to celebrate than create a beatdown in his honor. A beatdown like I used to get with a belt back in the day. Haha, just kidding. It was with a wooden spoon.

Other time wasters

The Thang

Mosey to cover picnic area to moveable picnic tables. I wasn’t sure, but glad to find that we could move them. Several PAX were eager to help move these tables into the right position that they would later regret.

In honor of my Dad’s birthday, January 26, 1953, we did the following:

  • 1 Burpee
  • 26 Calf raises
  • 19 Merkins
  • 53 LBCs

See what I did there Cruiser?

Then we spelled DAD with 6 sets of 12 reps each = 72:

  • Dips
  • Abyss Merkins (these were crowd pleasers)
  • Dwight Howards

After that we repeato’d the birthday exercises above and moved to the second set of DAD 6 x 12 = 72

  • Derkins
  • Alabama Prom Dates
  • Dan Taylors (1 squat and 4 lunges)

Decided to skip the next repeato and move right into the last DAD 6 x 12 = 72

  • Derkin N’Diaves
  • American Hammers
  • Dying Cockroaches

We didn’t have enough time to finish the last set and I think everyone was okay with that.

Mary

CoT

  • Pray for aging parents.
  • Spicoli is the Q at Alcatraz and is looking for Qs for Urban Assault.
  • Still time to give to HOPE.

NMM

  • Blind Date said the first set of Abyss Merkins were perfect form, but started to fade after that.
  • Adobe asked if my Dad liked music? I replied I couldn’t find a lot of songs about fathers. Maybe I should have picked my Dad’s favorite songs, if I knew what they were? Homework for the PAX, find out your Dad’s favorite songs.
  • Cruiser thought it couldn’t get worse than Abyss Merkins. Boy was he wrong.
  • I think Wahoo forgo counting and just followed YHC.
  • Spicoli helped explain why we cannot use certain words anymore.
  • DQ and SC were in the back so I didn’t hear much of their mumble chatter, but I think I did surprise them with some exercises they hadn’t done before.
