Gut Check on Heart Day
QIC: Spicoli
Date: 2/14/25
PAX: @bagpipe @burns (WB) @tammy @zesty @Lambchop @schlitz @rubber ducky @wobegon @bevo @spicoli (WD, QiC)
Earlier this month, I was filling Q spots and found that February 14th was open. The day of love. It seemed like a great one for me to take, so share the love I did.
(Note: Even though I hit all the lights on the way to the AO, I still made it there on time. Which is 5:30.)
Warmarama IC:
SSHs, IW, Squats, Abe Vigodas, Whirly w clap
Mosey around Bailey Park to continue Warmarama. OYO exercises as we go:
10 sshs in first corner
10 sshs, 20 merkins, in 2nd corner
10 sshs, 20 merkins, 20 jump squats at the stage
10 sshs, 20 merkins, 20 jump squats, 5 burpees at the last corner.
YHC on the lookout for Duck as he texted that he’d be there but late. The man was found and joined the fun.
I gave @Lamb chop the choice between us going to the park or to the parking lot. Park was chosen.
Mosey the lower side of Bailey Park past launch.
Instructions were simple:
Line up on sidewalk and count off as 1’s and 2’s. Step one was missed so the counting off was very arbitrary. Regardless, we got it together
Group A: sprint over The field up the hill and, sprint for mosey back;
Group B: do squats while you wait.
Flip flop and repeato 3 times
Change to Merkins 3 times
The guys were working it! A little bit of huffing and puffing so I gave a 10 count via Bevo. He ran through it very quickly so you can thank him for his counting skills 🤷
Mosey to coal pit
Bear crawl between columns
Do 3 Burpees per column (10 columns)
Again Lambo was asked his preference of parking lot or parking garage: garage was called.
Mosey to parking garage
Triple Nickel:
5 pullups at the tracks,
Run to the far wall of the garage,
5 donkey kick burpees
X5
(YHC was questioned by a few pax about the “triple” part since I called 5 times instead of 3? I said the run in between was the third thing. It’s possible YHC had that wrong. 🤷)
Mosey back to coal pit:
2 Burpees per column. Only go to 5 columns before #Omaha was called. Back to launch!
BROGA
Sun salutation-ish. We did transition between high lunge to standing on one leg to Warrior 3. Flip flop.
MOM: hold plank, lower to just above the ground. Hold that. Back to high plank, etc until time. About two minutes.
Fin.
COT:
Announcements
* Greenest Saturday is dependent on whether it rains or not
* Still need one or two spots filled for Monday night at Samaritan ministries
Prayers/concerns/praises:
* Sympathy for Lambchop’s family as he and his wife both lost grandmothers over the last week. Peace be with their families.
* Prayers for Rollback’s wife with her surgery and recovery.
* More news next week about the Lambchop family’s hopeful new addition.
* Keep in mind aging parents as sickness and the toll of time occur.
YHC took us out thankful for this group and asking each of us to turn towards and share the light we have inside. On this Day of Love, we must love (insert respect, trust, honor) ourselves in order to fully express love to those around us.
Moleskin:
* YHC wanted to make it a challenging workout and keep things moving. The PAX got after it while also keeping the mumble chatter high. I’ll take that as it was sufficient.
* Love to see Tammy and Zesty as a regulars at UA. They both were keeping a strong effort up throughout.
* Schlitz ran beforehand I believe, but that didn’t slow him down throughout the workout. He was delivering his normal colorful commentary about plans for Valentine’s Day. Not sure what her meant when he said he was giving his M “the ole Dibblety Stank and Move” but I hope that’s a good thing? Ah, quite the romantic.
* Bagpipe is a machine. That is all.
* Burns was discussing house equity and septic systems in between columns and burpees. It’s possible his twin boys may have to just “go in the yard” until things are fixed. Builds character.
* Wobegon is the master of maintaining a kind demeanor through misery. #ZenMaster
* Rubber Ducky revealed during the triple Nickel that his M offered a different form of exercise instead of him rolling out to the AO but he said he was committed to posting. Not sure that was a good idea, but here’s to hoping he gets a home version of the double down.
* Lambchop was The Decider today. You can blame him for the format.
* Bevo wanted to test if BROGA was a partner exercise. Concerned about getting tased by Winston’s finest, we put a stop to that.
As always, thank you for the opportunity to lead.
