Bring Your Popcorn

QIC: Doublewide

Date: 04.03.2025

PAX: Argyle, Boomerang, Dr. Toot, Green Acres, Starfish, Tammy, Tarzan, Wobegon, Ziggy Stardust

In looking for a theme for today’s workout, I discovered it was a day worth celebrating, with such national holidays as National Tweed Day or National Burrito Day. Alas, my interest was piqued when I saw it was also National Film Score Day. I chose some favorites from a Spotify playlist of “Best Film Scores”, and was ready to go.

We recited the F3 Mission Statement followed by the 5 Core Principles, then the beatdown began.

WOR: You know, the regular stuff

Lido Deck: I don’t like counting at F3 bootcamps because I can’t talk and count at the same time and ALWAYS lose track, so I usually just stop when most of the crowd is finished. For my Q, I made it so there was little counting. Directions: partner up. Top of the deck: R/L leg step ups, R/L Bulgarian (not Albanian) squats while bottom of the deck: 20 merkins (only thing you counted solo all morning). Partners switch each time.

Rock Pile: First called exercise was from the (newly revamped and I like it!) F3 website called Blocktonomo. Circle up and face out, holding you rock out in front of you. One at a time, each person sets their rock down and walks around the circle, pushing down on the rocks while you try to not let it drop. We followed this with several called exercises while one person at a time Cusaked your rock around the circle. Some exercises lasted several laps (curls), while others not so much (Bus drivers). Most importantly, no having to count!

Mary: Plank jacks, LBCs, dying cockroach, H2H, low flutter, Mutton crunch, penguin crunch, Freddy Mercs, pretty much anything I could find in the Exicon

COT: Since it was National Film Score Day, what goes better with a movie than…popcorn! I had said there were prizes for the Pax who knew the most songs, but all deserved a prize for showing up and pushing themselves. So, during the Name-o-rama, all Pax got a bag of popcorn.

Announcements:

  • Happy Hour and a Half and Greenest already happened…hope you made it!
  • Green Acres needs a TRQ Q on 4/17

Prayer Requests:

  • Aging parents and family members
  • World conflict – Ukraine, Gaza, and many others

Naked Man Moleskin

  • Argyle doesn’t think plank jacks count as Mary
  • Wobegon won the prize for knowing the most film scores, followed closely by Starfish
  • Note to self: Starfish was not gentle when pushing down on your rock during Blocktonomo
  • First time meeting both Tarzan and Tammy. Strong work, fellas.
  • Boomerang believes if you are going to drink all day, you gotta go ahead and start, so he planned on leaving TRQ and head straight for WSPH
  • Toot made for a great partner at the Lido Deck. No lower leg injury can hold him back. Most called exercises had a count of 12 for you, buddy.
  • We all held Balls to the Wall as long as we could. Ziggy and GA lasted a solid 60 seconds beyond everyone else, so time was called or we may still be there waiting.

Thanks for the keys, GA. Hope you get to enjoy a movie and popcorn this weekend.
