The Hype

YHC tried to get the PAX excited for a NFL Draft themed Q by teasing the OG/Tractors run routes with a “Scouting Report” on Wednesday. Each route has a summary with strengths, the ideal PAX  the route was made for and a NFL Player comparison.   Tractors route was all about Derrick Henry- smooth power, reliable on every down. This route would be a great pick for any PAX. The OG’s route equivalency was none other than Jason Kelce- fit for someone with experience, grittiness, full of energy, and always down to roll.

With little thought and a quick prompt to ChatGPT asking for a NFL draft themed preblast, I had more information than I knew what to do. Apparently, ChatGPT is well versed in F3 terminology.

The Thang:

• OG’s – 6 miles: Built for rhythm and longer grind.
• Tractors – 4 miles: Efficient, clean loop with just enough curveballs to keep it spicy.

PAX had the choice to “draft” the 4 or 6 mile run route for themselves. 11 departed at 5:15 and 8 more at 5:30.

Strong performances all around — everyone raised their draft stock!

Highlight:

After designing the route a few weeks ago on MayMyRun, I haven’t given much thought to actually looking at the route prior to departure this morning. Hence, we made a wrong turn on to MLK instead of turning left on 7th from Trade St. This ended up working out as we noticed a group of 8 heading our direction. Turns out the PAX from Urban Assault were running up MLK as the fastholes were hitting the downhill.

I know several other runners saw UA running downtown as well.

COT:

Good paces, tons of hills, and strong finishes. I’ll give credit to the core 4 of Suede, Wham-O, Juicebox and Doublewide who I believe ran a little bit further than the OG route and almost missed COT. They were joking deemed the “undrafted free agents”.

We circled up and took a moment to be grateful for the ability to move, to gather, and to support one another and all the men of F3 Winston-Salem.
