QIC: SGT Schultz
Date: November 11, 2019
PAX: Drama Queen (WD), Gucci (WB), SGT Schultz, Sour Mash, Starfish
YHC checked off Q #43 for 2019 during a brisk Veteran’s Day morning at #VI. 5 PAX were in attendance.
WARMARAMA: SSH’s, Hillbillies, Seal Claps, Arm Swirly Things forward and reverse (called out by Sour Mash, the Originator himself!), Overhead Claps, Whirlies With a Clap!, Abe Vigodas, standing hamstring stretches, groin stretches, Bent Leg Body Twists
THE THANG: This morning’s workout consisted of the Charles Bronson beatdown (look it up in the Lexicon) conducted in the field behind the YMCA. As we moseyed from the parking lot out to the field, the PAX hauled with them 10 kettlebells and dumbbells for use (2 x 15 lbs, 1 x 18lbs, 2 x 20 lbs, 3 x 25lbs and 2 x 30 lbs). For the start/return point, YHC pre-positioned Weinkes, illuminated by some lanterns, along the third base fence of the softball field. Approximately 40 yards away were three additional lanterns marking a second line, with a third line marked by an additional pair of lanterns positioned 10 yards beyond the second line.
The Charles Bronson routine goes as follows: At the starting line, perform the designated exercise for 30 reps OYO with kettlebells or dumbbells of your choice (or none at all). Once complete, run to second line. Arriving at the second line, drop down to bear crawl to the third line. At the third line, perform 10 Merkins and then mosey back to the start point. Perform 30 reps of the next listed exercise on the Weinke before running back to the second line. Rinse/repeat.
The listed exercises were as follows:
- Merkins
- Squats
- Crunchy Frogs
- Upright Rows
- Burpees (x 15 reps)
- Calf Raises
- Monkey Humpers
- Skull Crushers
- Curls
- Sit-ups
- Overhead Press
We went through the entire list and then started back again for a second time (crowd pleaser!), this time dropping down to 20 reps (and 5 Burpees) for each exercise. We all got through the second round of Burpees before running out of time at 0612. In all, we performed 200 Merkins in addition to all of the other exercises.
After hauling all of the weights, lights and Weinkes back to the parking lot, we ran out of time for Mary. Sorry, Mary.
COT:
- Happy Veterans Day! Thanks for all who have served and who have been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Thanks most of all to those who have shed their blood for our Nation and our freedoms. All gave some, some gave all!
- YHC has the Q tomorrow at Parliament. Q # 44 — No running and no Rush!
- Mike Nesser, a member of Gucci’s church, a member of Wake Forest’s Class of 1991, and Starfish’s fraternity brother, passed away suddenly yesterday from a massive heart attack shortly after church. He was found by his 14 year old son. What a sad and terrible tragedy.
- Keep Blue Steel and his family in your prayers as they move into their new home and continue to work through this transition in their lives
- Thanks to all of the PAX who gave of their time and themselves to help Blue Steel and his family move into their home
YHC took us out in prayer, asking our Lord to wrap his loving arms around the Nesser family and to use us to spread His love.
Thanks for the keys, Sassy!! (whom I understood fartsacked!)

DQ Drama Queen
YHC thought of a comment while laboring thru the Charles Bronson but forgot to make it at the end with my distraction of talking to Starfish about Austin and going back to help Gucci carry weights. In honor of veterans day Charles Bronson’s character was one of only 3 to completely escape in the movie The Great Escape. I did look it up to confirm but was 99% sure this AM. I also had one of the other 2.
Congrats on 43 Schultzie
