IS 1/11
QIC: Burns
PAX: Cheesesteak, Drip, Mutton (WD), Lambchop, Buyout, Palin, Burns (QIC)
The 3rd of 4 Qs was forecasted to take place on a rainy Saturday in Hanes Park, so YHC planned accordingly. Much use was to be made of the shelter by the tennis courts to keep pax dry, and some help from the Sky Q kept much of the rain at bay for our morning beatdown.
The thang:
10 exercises, tabata style. 30 seconds on, 10 seconds off, then rotate counter clockwise. After 2 full rotations, run two laps on the track. Repeat until time.
- Dips
- American Hammers
- Squats to the bench
- Mountain Climbers
- Curls (bricks)
- Step Ups
- Bent Over Rows (cinderblock)
- Elbow Plank
- Skull Crushers (bricks)
- Kettlebell Swings (20lb kb)
We made it through two full circuits 3 times, ran the track twice for a total of 1 mile. Packed up and headed back to the parking lot at 0758 to wrap up and CoT at 0800.
The workout design made conversation not only possible but incredibly pleasant. Topics discussed included but were not limited to:
- North Carolina’s new personal finance class
- The moral deterioration of popularly consumed entertainment
- Stein Mart as a superior option to other discount stores
- Tankless water heaters
- Drip’s 2.0’s future plans
- Cheesesteak’s lack of a television in his house
- Smart thermostats
The only announcement pertained to tomorrow’s ruck – launch at 0645 from the Robinhood Rd Bagel Station. Coffeeteria will be at that same bagel station afterwards, 0815 for any pax interested in joining but not interested in rucking.
Prayers were requested for Buyout’s recently married friends, Mutton’s brother in law/Lambchop’s uncle dealing with multiple myeloma, Palin’s uncle for reason’s I cannot currently recall because I didn’t use a recording device (cobains), and my grandmother who recently had a fall.
Thanks for the keys, Drip. They didn’t get too wet
