PAX: Turnover, The H.O.G., Bedbug, Resistor, Boo Boo, Peacemaker, Manscape, The Hit Man

A downpour welcomed nine brave pax as we gathered together at HP for Redline. What were those guys thinking? Fortunately, the downpour became a comfortable drizzle shortly after launch, and we accelerated to the work at hand.

Warmarama:

A lap around the Y, up to the intersection of the Intimidator and Carolina, then down to the track.
Rundown:

Simple format. Run a distance at a “good” pace, 200m recovery pace, then double your previous distance. In other words:
• 200m run, 200m mosey
• 400m run, 200m mosey
• 800m run, 200m mosey
• 1,600m run, 200m mosey
• 3,200m run, 200m mosey

Exitus.

Announcements:
• March 7th convergence for a soft relaunch of F3 Winston-Salem with Zima on Q. EH an FNG!
• Conclusion of Run Ranger Run this Saturday with 2nd F at Joymongers. Look for details from Wobegon on Twitter.
• YHC has Q for WIB this week as well; launch will be the Harris Teeter at Robinhood and Peacehaven. Come on out for more Run Ranger Run miles.

CoT:
• Praise for the H.O.G.’s new job; pray for him to persevere through the next month and finish well.
• Prayers for the homeless community in Winston-Salem, and the ministries that care for them.
• Physical healing for all banged up pax.
• Soul healing for all those suffering in their inner man.

YHC took us out with prayers of thanks to the SkyQ for the existence of F3 and consistent awareness of the homeless and other groups that are marginalized by society and culture.

Moleskin:
-Solid effort by all; several pax made it to the last lap of the 3,200m segment which, honestly, YHC did not expect. Great job men. YHC was also impressed that the eight pax posted despite less than favorable weather conditions.
-The Hit Man took home the yellow jersey today, expressing both his relief and dismay when YHC called time 200m from his completion of the 3,200m segment. The Hit Man has truly accelerated over the past year and a half with his pace.
-It was great to meet Bed Bug for the first time, a recent transplant from Natville (Greensboro). The pax was putting down the miles. YHC hopes to see him out at other AOs in the near future.
-T-Claps to Resistor for stepping up and assuming site-Q responsibilities from Valdez. Resistor quickly put out an APB for both Qs for the weekly workout and the shovel flag which, Manscape confirmed, was handed off to Valdez “about a year ago.” T-Claps also to Valdez for his leadership over the past year.
-Speaking of the war daddy, Manscape is Mr. Consistency, putting in the miles week in and week out. YHC thinks he was a little disappointed, though, by the absence of a trip up Pilot View.
-Peacemaker was his usual jovial self and laid down a steady pace around the track.
-Boo Boo (and possibly Bedbug too) said he came only because YHC promised “no hills.” There was only a small bit of mumbling that the warmup jog took us up Glade to West End to Carolina. Silence ensued, however, as the pax arrived at the track and got to business.
-The H.O.G. and YHC met Turnover at Harris Teeter on Cloverdale for a RIRO. Turnover arrived at ~0510 for the 0515 run as the sky taps were opened wide. Yet at 0516, Turnover had yet to exit his vehicle and seemed reluctant to even acknowledge us as we knocked on his windows. This led to the post-workout thought of, “What exactly was going on in Turnover’s head? Was he thinking about going home without even saying ‘hey’? Was he thinking that we couldn’t see him if he didn’t look at us?” Despite his apparent reluctance to step out in the elements, Turnover turned in a smoking performance on the track in what was his first post to Redline.
-The keys were left with the new site-Q, Resistor. Valdez, would you please mail him the shovel flag?
