A great day to Q at Purgatory, low 50’s, perfect workout weather.
YHC arrived a bit early to make sure all was in order and the cars started coming. All PAX were on time and observed the prescribed social distancing rules during the workout.
After a Mission Statement and round robin of sorts of the Core Principles we began the Warmarama.
Some Schultzy stretches, then mosey to the flag pole for 15 IC SSH, mosey a bit, stop for 15 IC IST, mosey a bit more, stop for a round of Batwings and again mosey a bit, stop for 15 IC Whirlies. Finish with a mosey to the tennis courts.
After a crazy week in all aspects, it was appropriate that Dora’s crazy twin sister, Doracide, make an appearance. Apparently, several of the PAX are familiar with crazy, enough said.
Partner up, but observe CDC’s social distancing rules observed, for 100 Merkins, 200 Plank Jacks, 300 Squats and because she’s crazy 400 LBC’s.
Partner 1 begins stated exercise while partner 2 sprint/ran/mosey to far side of second court for 1 Burpee, return to start, sprint/run/mosey to far side of third court for 2 Burpees, return to start and flapjack with partner. Fun continues until all 4 exercises are accomplished.
Look we still have time…Mosey to Rock Pile, pick a rock, any rock, just pick one.
To wall for the following…
Wall Sit with rock while each PAX does 10 Bus Drivers, then up for a rest. Back to Wall Sit with rock while each PAX does 10 Jack Reachers with rock. Up for a rest then 15 Mike Tysons OYO. Let’s repeat that…Look at the time, we can do that again.
Before we put our rocks away circle up for 15 IC each of Curls for the Girls, Skull Crushers, Benchpress and Overhead Press. Let’s put the rocks away.
Mosey or a slow pace, who knows, had to be there, back to start, but stopping along the way to do Mutton Crunches, Low Flutters, American Hammers and Alabama Prom Dates.
DONE.
COT-social distance observed, but awkward for YHC in the distance middle.
As we are all dealing with the stresses and anxiety of the unknown, requests were for prayer for all the mess we dealing with, YHC took us out on this note.
NMM:
YHC did bring some tunes for the day, as promised, featuring oldies-Arthea Franklin, Martha Reeves, Edwin Starr, Temptations, Steve Wonder, Isley Brothers, Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes and Jackson 5. As I later found out most of the PAX were respects who were probably around when these tunes were originally released!
From the start the mumble chatter began, awkward greetings, comments on the various forms of high fives/fist or elbow bumps, Lemming voicing his thoughts on the Q getting the PAX to name the Core Principles (Q’s job), to the gasp of the Nantan as we started off with no SSH’s and a few PAX wondering if we would walk or mosey. Mongoose was concerned that the tennis court might be locked, probably not part of the CDC requirements, but YHC let him know I had a ladder just in case (credibility beginning to crack).
Once the beatdown began everyone appeared to find their groove. Although when the 400 reps was mentioned, some moaning did slip out. Again, it’s been a crazy week. YHC was questioned if he would work out or only provide music. YHC did observe strong work by the far corner PAX consisting of Lace, Mongoose, High Cotton and TPS. Splash and Pony did say this sucks at some point on the courts, a compliment I reckon. All the PAX did STRONG work! Shoutout to my partner, DDay, well done.
Chatter continued at the Wall and YHC saw further deterioration of his credibility, as often pointed out. YHC tried to encourage the PAX by keeping tabs on the status of the how many PAX were left to finish the called exercise. So I can’t count!
First and second rounds of wall sit exercises were greeted with mild chatter, but quickly escalated when we went for a third round. Strategic placement of one’s speaker is key to survival during a Q.
But wait we did have time for a few rounds of rock exercises, Green Acres regretted doing some additional rock work at the Wall while waiting. Undertow and Deductible were on it all workout long-strong work men.
As we replaced our rocks, Burlap mentioned he would have to leave at 8 for something. I guess the credibility was completely gone at that point.
Roving Mary count was unbalanced for Mutton Crunches, and 13 is not American. Did I mention it’s been a crazy week? Hopefully Spalsh will not carry to much trauma for the day.
Recording Q fail, old guy and technology, capped off the day.
Great pleasure to lead a great and crazy group of men. Thanks for keys Offsides (missed your presence today) they are in the sanitized rock pile.
