With the passing of Charlie Daniels this past week, a prominent musical influence of my youth, YHC knew that a CDB themed beatdown was appropriate.
Pax had already gathered at 0527 ready for fun as YHC pulled into the parking lot.
Tunes were fired up, and 3 jabroni’s who needed some EC running to compensate for what they believed to be a less than sufficient beatdown joined the circle right as we started.

Since the devil was in a bind and way behind (how does someone who is beyond time get way behind? #deepthoughts) he was willing to make a DEAL!

Pax also learned some “original lyrics” to this song. Originally the devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said “Boy, let me tell you what. I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, because we know IT’S YOU vs. YOU!”
Epic records made him modify the lyrics to fit their agenda.
Almost finishing the deck, the pax moseyed to pick up a heavy rock and made a line in the parking lot.
The Chorus
Since there is a fire on the mountain, CDB says “Run, boys, run!” Which clearly means – LUNG BUSTERS

For the “chickens in the bread pan, picking out dough” pax picked up their rock for some festive IC exercises:

Since the running and the picking lines are repeated, pax repeated the above 2 more times! #crowdpleaser
The devil bowed his head because he knew that he’d been beat, so pax headed for Mary

- Pony knew the middle name of Mr. Daniel’s wife, it was not Zog
- Zima noted the Q had the Q-drenaline flowing on the downhill sprints
- Pony, and potentially other’s, knew the lead actor in the movie Stroker Ace, a true cinematic masterpiece
- Pax loved the jump squats
- Turnover was singing along most of the morning
- Spam was worried that Lucius Clay was killed in the Legend of Wooley Swamp, but comforted he got his revenge against the brothers who were belligerent when they speak
- Pax were hoping for more factoids to break up the card-dealing fun
- There was no sliding of the rocks, only some kind of sick Q would ask pax to slide rocks on the pavement #traumatizedfromFenderQ
- Flyby accused the Q of going over by 1 minute. Clearly his watch is not synchronized to the International Space Station every 1/8 of a second. (The Q’s isn’t either, but that’s besides the point)
