700 Club Comes To The Outhouse

After some Sunday night Twitter confusion, it was resolved by site Q Greenspan that YHC did have the Q on Monday morning and not our resident parttime Texan Starfish.  Greenspan never disclosed the cause of the confusion and YHC has enough confusion in my day job to worry about this.  Onward.

Since it was summer and since YHC had Qed several times recently, it seemed like a good time for a rerun.  The have been a few iterations of this workout that I have fondly named the 700 Club, but it was making a first time appearance at The Outhouse.

As we gathered Green Acres who was a RIRO – take that other AO war daddies – regaled us with a story of being stopped along his way and asked for directions.  When GA asked where the gentlemen needed to go he replied “back to where I came from.”  While that could have been taken philosophically, Green Acres assisted him as best he could, pointed him toward town, and moseyed on over to join us.

We were also joined by long lost pax Beast Lite and his 2.0 who had posted once before but had not acquired a name.  We were excited to have a 2.0 FNG and we began with a little Warmorama.

YHC was not perfect in his counting this AM and was quickly called out.  Little did they know of the counting to come.  We went made it thru several warm up standards and were on our way carrying weights of various shapes and sizes.

The exact site of the beatdown became the front Jefferson parking lot.  At one end we performed weight exercises and at the other body weight exercises. Possibly in this order.

25 reps per stop do each stop twice before moving on 25x2x7x2 = 700 reps. Thus, the 700 Club.

We then moseyed back to the launch right on time.

Thanks to Starfish for posting after he was thrown to the back seat after thinking he was getting to drive. He was his normal jovial, hard working self.

Welcome Cinco Lite fka Sam Adams V – yes you read that right the 5th Sam Adams.  While there was some discussion of using 5th in the context most of us adults know it, we chose better and went with Spanish and a little nod to dad with the Lite tagged on.

Thanks to all pax (especially Greenspan who carried two kettle bells) to part of the AO that probably hadn’t required pax to carry bells to before.  But hey – it was part of the beatdown, right?

We had a span of ages from 9 to 64.  Impressive work by all but especially those on the ends of that spectrum

One final note as a call back to Green Acres story, I was reminded me of the old saying on the tombstone and the reply.  I did have to google it, but I suppose there’s a lesson in there for us all.  A tombstone had the following inscription:

Remember man, as you walk by, As you are now, so once was I, As I am now, so shall you be, Remember this and follow me.

To which a reply was written:

To follow you I’ll not consent, Until I know which way you went.
